This little beauty was capture at Commondale. North Yorkshire Moors. Please check my lastest photo of the young chick.

Thank you for your views.

I don't think Astro pics are overly popular on Flickr & I blame NASA! After all they keep publishing those unbelievably stunning shots from their satellites and telescopes the size of football fields.

So here is a quickie from that great night doing an Astro photography workshop in 2017. I did capture the shooting star as well in this shot, though I cropped the photo so "moved" it so it would still be in the frame. I don't have the skills, or location, to take those great shots I've seen with the Milky arcing over a mountain range. This was over a black ocean on a crystal-clear night. One day I will go to the stars and take photos, though maybe not in this lifetime ;)

If you want some nice chill vibes to view the Milky Way then you can't beat youtu.be/Vc_Z0gUfqi4 Under The Milky Way Tonight by an old aussie band The Church.

Have a chill evening everyone :)

After a lot of work, and a little of it even done by myself, my talented and beautiful friend Tatianna Diamond and myself are proud to say Fairhaven is open. We have used many of the beautiful sims on the grid for photos and this is our way to give something back. We hope you enjoy it and while it will never be "finished" it is open and I could personally not be more proud of this Fairhaven 1.0.

En fin de journée, la nature a encore offert une création artistique inédite dans un cadre accessible et presque bucolique.

Over the years i had visited Edinburgh on many occasions. It never fails to impress with just how beautiful it is. We were fortunate to have sunny days and beautiful sunsets while there.

Best to be viewed in large size format.

I woke up this morning to be greeted by mist in the river valley. It never lasts long so I took the opportunity for a quick pre-breakfast walk down to the railway to get a couple of shots. The mist was already receding when 156484 and 156487 passed with the 2W11 0731 Middlesbrough to Hexham service. By the time I had returned to the house and sat down with a coffee it had gone. Must get up earlier next time!

Photographing gum trees and showcasing their natural beauty can be rewarding. Here are some tips to help you capture stunning shots:

Photographing Gum Trees

Lighting: Early morning or late afternoon provides the best natural light. The golden hour adds a warm glow to the scene, highlighting the textures and colors of the bark.

Angles and Composition: Experiment with different angles. Shooting from a low angle can emphasize the height and grandeur of the trees. Including the surrounding landscape can provide context and contrast.

Focus on Details: Close-up shots of the bark, leaves, and branches can highlight the unique textures and patterns of gum trees. Look for interesting shapes and colors.

Weather Conditions: Cloudy days can provide soft, diffused light, reducing harsh shadows. On sunny days, the interplay of light and shadow can create dramatic effects.

Equipment: A wide-angle lens can capture the full height and canopy of the trees, while a macro lens is great for detailed shots of the bark and leaves.

Showcasing Your Photos

Editing: Use photo editing software to enhance colors, contrast, and sharpness. Be careful not to overdo it—aim for a natural look.

Presentation: Consider printing your photos and displaying them in frames. This adds a tangible element to your work.

Online Sharing: Share your photos on social media platforms or photography forums. Engage with other photographers to get feedback and improve your skills.

Portfolio: Create an online portfolio to showcase your best work. This can be a personal website or a dedicated account on a photo-sharing site.

Photographing nature requires patience and a keen eye for detail. Take your time to explore different perspectives and enjoy the process. 🌳

Hawnby Hill Crag

Hawnby is a small crossroads village and civil parish in Rye Dale in the North York Moors National Park, North Yorkshire, England.

John Wesley - visited Hawnby in 1757

After staying in Osmotherley he "rode over one of the pleasantest parts of England to Hawnby".

Este procesado sí que me ha llevado tiempo, así que os lo dedico a tod@s los que amablemente comentáis mis imágenes.

Un saludo.

VER EN GRANDE

collaged the same four slightly out-of-focus fotos many times resulted in this. Hope you enjoy each day of your life remaining.

Poem by Yang Chi (1331-1383)

Five-Color

A five-color robe of embroidered silk:

many flowers, and a few sparse branches.

Spring is here, and I'm afraid to put it on:

the butterflies might all land on me!

Translated by Jonathan Chaves

This is how this scene appeared to me - and how it vanished as fast as it came. I even don't know exactly where the tree is located - as the photograph was taken with the 200 mm long lens down the valley. Enjoy the moment!

Part of my 'Duffus Castle through the seasons' project.

601314487fe3c.site123.me/

The castle is situated on the Laich of Moray, a fertile plain that was once the swampy foreshore of Spynie Loch. This was originally a more defensive position than it appears today, long after the loch was drained.

The motte is a huge man-made mound, with steep sides and a wide ditch separating it from the bailey. The whole site is enclosed by a water-filled ditch, which is more a mark of its boundary than it is a serious defensive measure.

Duffus Castle was built by a Flemish man named Freskin, who came to Scotland in the first half of the 1100s. After an uprising by the ‘men of Moray’ against David I in 1130, the king sent Freskin north as a representative of royal authority.

He was given the estate of Duffus, and here he built an earthwork-and-timber castle. Freskin’s son William adopted the title of ‘de Moravia’ – of Moray. By 1200, the family had become the most influential noble family in northern Scotland, giving rise to the earls of Sutherland and Clan Murray.

In about 1270, the castle passed to Sir Reginald Cheyne the Elder, Lord of Inverugie. He probably built the square stone keep on top of the motte, and the curtain wall encircling the bailey. In 1305, the invading King Edward I of England gave him a grant of 200 oaks from the royal forests of Darnaway and Longmorn, which were probably used for the castle’s floors and roofs.

Bolton Castle, nestled in the stunning Wensleydale region of North Yorkshire, is one of England’s best-preserved medieval castles. Built in the late 14th century by Sir Richard le Scrope, it has a rich history, including serving as a prison for Mary Queen of Scots in 1568. The castle offers a fascinating glimpse into medieval life, with intact rooms such as the Old Kitchens, Dungeon, Solar, Nursery, Armory, and Great Chamber. Visitors can explore its atmospheric halls, enjoy falconry displays, and even try their hand at archery.

One of the more unique attractions at Bolton Castle is its wild boar enclosure. Wild boars were once native to Britain but became extinct in the wild centuries ago. However, Bolton Castle has reintroduced them, and visitors can see these fascinating animals up close. The castle recently welcomed a new litter of wild boar piglets, adding to the charm of the experience. There’s even a scheduled wild boar feeding time at 16:00, where guests can observe them in action.

If you visit, be sure to check out the castle gardens, which have been restored along medieval lines, featuring a herb garden, rose garden, walled vineyard, and maze. The tea room, located in the atmospheric Guest Hall, serves homemade meals, including boar pie, which is a nod to the castle’s historical connection with these animals.

Would you like recommendations on the best time to visit or nearby photography spots? Given our love for capturing landscapes fellow Flickr's , Bolton Castle’s dramatic setting does make for some stunning shots!

This is a place called Castell Dinas Bran, on the steep hills over looking Llangollen in Denbighshire in North Wales, this was taken by Louize it took us about 30 minutes to walk up this very steep hill/come mountain but once up there boy what a fantastic view but the main attraction was the castle ruins and this is one of the views of it, I think this is a stunning shot, I love the way she has framed this as if you were looking back through time! scanned in from a negative.

Not all of the amazing sunsets are found high on a mountain top here in Western North Carolina, no indeed, there’s plenty of sights to behold down in the mountain valleys. The colors roaring over the peaks, with the subtle rolling hills of the rural farmlands, and residential areas deep in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains. I wanted to examine the possibilities of getting a stunning shot in an area that, while I was familiar with, had never photographed before, what better place to start than ones own backyard. Only a small trip from my home, this field often has stunning lighting during sunset, so here I was to document the magical experience, and relay it on to you, just off the highway.
