Tip # 1: if your professor gives you their power point, print it off, cut out the slides and paste them to note cards. It's the perfect way to brush up on the information they found important. I use a full size note card so that I have room to write notes on the side. These cards are an easy way to cary the material with you, so while your waiting on your friend to grab lunch with you, you can study for a few minutes without lugging a heavy book.

Study Tip: Use flow charts and diagrams

Visual aids can be really helpful when revising. #study #studytip

Tip # 3: make time to workout. Get the blood flowing to your brain; plus if you're a fit and healthy person chances are you won't get sick very often and will be able to make it to class (always important to making good grades!).

Study Tip: Be an active reader.

Be a text detective: ask your text good questions and it will yield good answers. #study #studytip

Study Tip: Practice on old exams

One of the most effective ways to prepare for exams is to practice taking past versions. This helps you get used to the format of the questions, and - if you time yourself - can also be good practice for making sure you spend the right amount of time on each section. #study #studytip

Study Tip: Complete assignments thoroughly and in a timely manner. #study #studytip

Study Tip: Set your goals and priorities for the semester and then develop a plan for achieving that goal. #study #studytip #studying

Study Tip: Take breaks. Every 25 minutes, walk away from the material for 3-5 minutes. #study #studytip

Study Tip: Participate in study groups.

Share the load of reading and studying with other students – you will learn better by teaching them,

and you will be exposed to ideas you didn’t come up with on your own. #study #studytip

Study Tip: Set your goals and priorities for the semester and then develop a plan for achieving that goal. #study #studytip #studying

Study Tip: Ask questions if you are confused. Confusion is definitely your worst enemy. #study #studytip

Study Tip: Look for better solutions to problems

For example, if you don't understand the course material, don't just re-read it.

Try something else! Consult with the professor, a tutor, an academic advisor, a classmate, a study group, or your school's study skills center. #study #studytip

Tip # 2: when studying for long periods of time take a break. I suggest buying a coloring book. Take time out of your study to do something relaxing (not Facebook) and allow time for the information to sink in before you cram the rest of your chemistry notes inbetween your ears. Coloring works the brain in a different way...kinda like a massage.

Study Tip: Review your notes every day.

Research has shown that reviewing new material within 24 hours of hearing it increases your retention of that material by about 60%. This means that you will be 60% ahead of the game the next time you walk into class. If you want to significantly reduce the time necessary to prepare for exams, this is the way to do it.#study #studytip

Study Tip: Easily remember sequences and key concepts – like PEMDAS – by revamping them into a story you can relate to. #study #studytip

Study Tip: Develop a list of questions that you may have about the material. #study #studytip

Make the information stick by saying things aloud and rewriting things. #study #studytip

Study Tip: Budget your time, make sure you have sufficient time to study so that you are well prepared for the test. #studytip #study #studying

Study Tip: Be involved in your classes. Don't simply pretend you are a sponge, ready to soak up whatever the instructor says. You are there to learn, not to be taught. #study #studytip

Study Tip: If you're finding it hard to find time to study, cut back on some (but not all!) of your other activities. Prioritising study might mean spending less time online, or it might mean cutting back on shifts at work, or giving weekend sport a miss for a while. #study #studytip

parents helping children learn is a reminder that after children enroll in school, parents still have a responsibility to ensure the proper education for their child. This book shows parents how to advocate for their child at school.

Study Tip: Create a playlist.Put familiar songs into a playlist that will be good

background music. New music will distract you so stick to the basics. #studytip #study

Study Tip: Encourage yourself to study through rational thinking. Recognize your irrational ideas about studying and replace them with more helpful ideas. Change "There's no time to study and have fun" to "There's plenty of time for both studying and fun if I manage my time effectively" #study #studytip

little apps and games don’t steal your attention. #study #studytip

Study Tip: Type up your notes. An entire notebook full of notes is overwhelming. It seems like a waste of time to type notes you already have, but repetition is great for memorization. The time you spend typing them actually counts as studying, because you absorb information without even realizing it. #study #studytip
