第二屆中學文憑試轉眼結束，雖然教育局已對新高中課程作出檢討，但部份科目的校本評核仍未取消，學生功課量大，導致本屆考生退修率嚴峻，數字反映新高中課程未能配合學生程度，同時亦反映部份學生選科策略出錯。
若未能獲本地大學取錄，家長及考生應否值得報讀副學士或重讀文憑試？據教資會調查顯示，現時社會大眾仍未接受副學士為獨立學歷，只被視為通往學士學位的踏腳石。
其實新學制均可銜接至英澳紐學制，英澳紐一向是港人首選，其優良的教學質素，多元化的課程，均切合不同學生的能力和需要。海外畢業生一向擁有可觀的前景，不少顧主認為英澳紐畢業生，在國際視野、難題處理以至社交技巧方面都較有優勢。
而部份中五學生家長更提早安排子女於完成中五後便到英澳紐升學，因學生只需順利修畢一年的大學基礎課程，便可直接銜接大學。由於英國、澳洲及紐西蘭大學一般課程仍採用三年制，若一切順利，學生還會比其同屆同學先完成文憑試再讀四年大學更為快捷!

家長對文憑試信心下挫，海外升學人數持續上升
新高中學制自推行以來，課程的內容範疇及評核準則均引來社會各界的强烈爭議。不斷的教育改革與衝擊，讓學生感到無所適從。據課程發展處舉辦的「新高中課程及評估學校意見調查簡介會」，校長反映他們在學校前線，親身看到當前各種教育問題，深深感受到學生和教師的壓力和需要。不少家長亦反映中學文憑試的評分標準模糊不清，即使兩三屆後，他們仍然對本地學制欠缺信心。
有見及此，不少家長都積極地為子女安排更合適的升學途徑，而海外升學更是熱門選擇之一。據「2012年中文大學校友評議會調查」顯示，五成六受訪者擬安排子女留學或就讀國際學校，而「跳船」以避過新高中學制的學生人數，比○九年的同類調查上升一成七，反映有意到海外升學的學生人數持續上升。課程全面及良好的學習環境是選擇到海外升學的重要因素之一，除了可促進學生運用英語能力外，亦可開拓視野及建立廣闊的人際網絡。青協督導主任鄧良順表示，不少本地學生在求學時仍未摸清自己的興趣和能力，以及適合那類型工作，原因是欠缺視野和人際網絡狹窄。海外教育著重全人發展，透過多元化的課外活動，有助學生確定對未來的職志意向，為前途鋪路。各海外院校現正進行招生，家長可攜帶子女過往兩年成績正本親臨「英、澳、紐中學聯合招生展 2013」，屆時院校代表將為學生進行即場面試及取錄。

明報專訊】參加首屆文憑試聯招的9間大學，今年共有1.48萬名四年制學生，而同屆三年制入學的末代高考生僅1.2萬人獲取錄，兩者相差21%。各校今年招收非聯招生如國際文憑（IB）、副學士等，主要撥出三年制學額，四年制學額多未被使用。學友社指出，來年入八大成績將較今年平均「4核心+1選修」4級的標準更高，因扣除非聯招入學人數後，八大供聯招新生學額將重回約1.2萬水平，競爭更激烈。
經聯招入讀八大四年制課程的首批文憑生，上周陸續完成新生註冊，根據參與聯招的9間大學（資助八大加公開大學）提供數字，今年度共11,960人入讀三年制課程，至於四年制課程則共取錄14,476人，兩考相差2516人。以資助八大計，三年及四年制學生人數相差，差距由最低的嶺大6%至最高的教院39.7%（見表）。
多撥三年制學額予非聯招生
另外，有提供非聯招收生數據的4間院校，今年均撥出較多三年制學額取錄非聯招新生。其中，理大的四年制課程並未取錄任何非聯招新生，但卻提供423個三年制學額供非聯招生；教院比例則為3：125（四年制：三年制）。科大、城大亦僅取錄小量四年制非聯招生。其餘院校則未有提供相關收生數字。
學友社學生輔導中心總幹事列豪章表示，若下一屆聯招院校總學額維持不變，扣除一成多非聯招生後，將餘下約1.2萬個學額，較今年1.48萬個為少。以今年平均需4核心科加一科選修至少4級才算「穩陣」獲取錄計，列豪章估計第二屆考生必須有更高成績，才能躋身八大，但現階段較難評估實際情况，提醒來屆考生必須有心理準備。
學生及家長仍可把握最後機會入讀心儀用澳大學。
