The 2012 class of Marshall Scholars, emerging leaders from across the United States selected for the prestigious scholarship program, left for the UK this week following a three-day send-off in Washington, DC. The 37 students selected this year will pursue graduate degrees at top UK academic and research institutions in a variety of academic fields.
In Washington, the new class of Scholars met with former scholars as well as leaders from NASA and the US State Department. Also featured in the programme were tours of Congress, the State Department, and the Smithsonian Museum of American History and British Ambassador Sir Peter Westmacott welcomed the class to Washington at a reception at the Ambassador’s Residence.
