This was shot using a Canon 30D, 17-40mm L lens. One flash, a vivitar 285hv shot from inside the model at full, diffused through a sheet of vellum. The flash was slightly behind the rear wall, tilted inward, causing the outline. I frequently shoot small scale study models like this for quick isolation in photoshop.
