The former Gold Leaf Studio near 5th and I Streets in the Mount Vernon Triangle is now the subject of debate regarding the site's future development. While the building itself isn't terribly special, it would be more interesting to include it into whatever condo block the developers have in mind for the site.

Plush Studios Blogger Search Results!

Hi everyone, the results for our blogger search for 2024 are finally in!

I had such a difficult yet fun time choosing the official bloggers and influencers. I had to go over 400+ submissions multiple times, choosing wisely who I felt fit to sponsor the Plush Studios brand for the 2024 year. Exceeding the expected amount of bloggers giving new to experienced bloggers a chance I could not select all of you guys.

Welcome to the Plush Studios team! Super excited to have you guys join me as I continue to grow my brand, taking it into a new direction.. Everyone that has been selected will received a welcome IM, invite to discord and group invite within the upcoming days.

Group invites are being sent out today!

Studio 26, assignment on To Frame or Not to Frame---

During this assignment period, I found myself thinking that almost every shot I took could benefit from a frame, Also I found myself most often drawn to simple, subtle frames, like this one, which is Ribbet's mirror effect, made very narrow, with an increase in the amount of shadow for the inner edge.

I chose this one as my final image for the way the softness of the edge suits the softness of Po's bright-eyed gaze. Po, who is quite oblivious to the waiting for a definitive diagnosis, & also to the continued waiting for her surgical incision to heal -- except that she would ever so much like to be allowed to go swimming----

What better place for a photographic studio? Set in tranquil surrounds, with air conditioning, overlooking a small lake in the Australian bushland. I am sure the lawned area will be a popular place for some of her outside work.

I had an interesting conversation with the owner, who was very excited about moving into the studio that day.

Studio 26 assignment, It's a Wild World. Assignment was to photograph wildlife and a form of wildlife that you don't normally shoot (which means birds were off limits for me - it's about stretching yourself.) I can't say I shot a lot for this assignment and nothing else I shot was in acceptable focus, so this ground squirrel at Boyce Thompson Arboretum iis my submission. Cute guy

Cychrus caraboides, Carabidae

Ok, next post will be something cuter, I promise. Until then here is another ground beetle stack. Please see last post for more details!

Stacked from 256 exposures in Zerene Stacker (PMAX).

Lighting: Two IKEA Jansjö LED lights diffused through a white plastic container.

Again – make sure to check out the 21MP version!

My studio

Sept 2010

NYC

Finally finished my studio. So much inspiration from the room came from flickr. I come in here and just stare, it makes me so happy to be in it! This was my youngest babies room, its very small, but once I got it back (hes sharing with his brother) I couldnt wait to decorate! Ive placed notes on different things around the room.

Los Ojos, my studio, with works in progress

Lavish Hair Studio, Camp Washington, Cincinnati

The studio and the entrance new billy (since i bought something with defect and after much strugle had to take apart and pack all to take it back) was the reason i have been pretty much dissapeared these days.

The studio was unuseful so i had to get new table, new ikea billy and tidy up everything so everything could be near and make it a comfy place to work, but i am DONE! i am sooo happy! YAY!!

I could not take anymore my living room being a mess everytime i had to work. I mean, everytime.

All on my own! YAY FOR ME! :D

O sea, siempre.

Que contenta estoyyyyy!!!!! molida, pero muy feliz! :D

Y yo solita! OLE YO

We don't like them in our gardens.

AND YET: The dandelion plant is a beneficial weed, with a wide range of uses, and is even a good companion plant for gardening.

Its taproot will bring up nutrients for shallower-rooting plants, and add minerals and nitrogen to soil.

It is also known to attract pollinating insects and release ethylene gas which helps fruit to ripen.

Taraxacum seeds are an important food source for certain birds

Models having fun?

Look, it is not all plain sailing, what YOU get is the final result after hours spent 'perfecting' the image.

Mistakes are made, things go wrong, with the props, the set-up.

Reflectors fall over as do flowers, or the whole thing shifts, haha.

It is a matter of keeping calm or seeing the fun in what happened, like this here!

I wanted to do the 'life' of Dandelion, from flower to clock and...

FUN from Studio Indigo.

I wish you a good time and thank you, M, (*_*)

Studio portrait of a brunette woman

A studio portrait or perhaps more accurately a studio headshot. But a headshot with a lovely feeling. Made as part of a modelling portfolio photoshoot which I have written about with more pictures from the session here - fashionphotographysydney.blogspot.com/2019/07/how-to-stud... A lovely series of pictures. Thanks Sam!

This was made from a vintage Studio Twelve kit called "Victorian Bouquet." It is a 14"x18" wall panel made using simple crewel stitching and flowers made on the Studio Twelve looms. These flower types are called Layered Daisy with the larger ones having pouf centers and some of the smaller flowers having satin stitched centers.
