I was working with a new higher wattage LED light in my small home studio. With this image I’m trying to create that soft painterly light and a warm moody vibe.

Light and photography are inextricably linked. Without light the world would be shrouded in the deepest darkness. Light shows us what is there... our imagination turns it into a story.

This year is coming to it's end, it's time to reflect. A year in which a lot has happened for me, a year that started with a lot of sadness, but also joy and happiness, a year in which I learned a lot about myself and my life, a year with difficult moments but also many beautiful and loving moments. It was a year I will not forget. I look forward to the new year with confidence and an open mind.

Trying out something new.

I've now got lots of fresh fruit to eat! Maybe I'll try still life with wine bottles next ;)

A studio session that worked well in monochrome.

I had the glorious idea to take a shot of Iggy in the studio while my husband would pull a tube to release hearts confetti. Wrong idea, it gave a really loud bang and that didn't amuse Iggy very much. Sorry honey, it wasn't my intention to scare you. So we took a break and after dinner we went back into the studio for some wide angle and confetti fun.
