Mei is always happy to encounter new plants, especially when their leaves are hearted-shaped, like this "String of hearts", dangling from well above her head, and going where knows where...She'll probably follow the chain those leaves are part of, lose herself in the forest of her friend Totoro, the big and fluffy creature, and dream of flying over the big trees with him.

My son had asked me to make the Cat Bus for him a while ago after he saw My Neighbor Totoro for the first time. I really surprised him with it at his party yesterday. The look on his face was priceless..and worth all the hours that went into that Cat Bus. ^-^

My Neighbor Totoro is a 1988 Japanese animated fantasy film that was written and directed by Hayao Miyazaki and animated by Studio Ghibli for Tokuma Shoten.
The film tells the story of a professor's young daughters Satsuki and Mei, and their interactions with friendly wood spirits in postwar rural Japan.

One of my favorite ghibli films, Princess Mononoke :> done with Ignotus! Thank you for being my DOG and helping so much with the set ♥
Can you spot all the Kodama?! 👀🔎
This probably makes no sense unless you have seen the fabulous (yet possibly most depressing anime ever) Grave of The Fireflies :)

If you love Totoro, and LEGO, why not support this live project on LEGO Ideas? I would really appreciate any support and if you are able, share this idea with your friends and family on social media!
This build was really fun to design and photograph. The trees are a new design I came up with, and the path came together nicely as well. I'm also really liking the way Totoro was developed. Just like in the film, Totoro has a olive green leaf on his head. He also features two eyes, which I used a sharpie marker to make the eyes. Gotta get creative sometimes....
Let's keep the LEGO Totoro dream alive! Support this project and share it with your friends and family. Sharing on social media is also very helpful, and can help this project gain momentum.
That's it for now! Drop a comment and let me know of any improvements I got potentially add on to this set. I will have two more Space Jam 2020 entries coming very soon, so look forward to those.
Thanks for viewing! :)

On the subject of Studio Ghibli they have a new film that just came out in Japan called Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea (崖の上のポニョ. The theme song to that movie was everywhere and a few weeks later is still stuck in my head. When ever I am idle I start singing in my head Ponyo Ponyo Ponyo sakana no ko! " Because I know you want to suffer with me. Please feel free to click here. =D

Struggling for subjects already.. but I love Laputa, so thought I would take a macro of my toy robot from it.
Note to self: Must stop worrying about weight out loud. Even poor Totoro thinks he has put on a few ounces! He hasn't, of course, just been watching the Disney Channel too much.. I tell him he doesn't need to be like all those skinny cartoon characters, but I must also start practicing what I preach...
I ordered a few DIY roomboxes from China. You have to cut and glue everything together since they were in pieces and the instructions were in Chinese. I honestly thought that it was impossible for me to finish this roombox (the instruction booklet and the pieces were intimidating). It has been fun watching the pieces come together and very rewarding once it was finished. ◕ ‿‿ ◕
