The demolition of housing in Kents Hill, Milton Keynes, England that was not much more than 10 years old. That this was done is a shame because the buildings could have been renovated and used as council housing or shared ownership for people getting on the property ladder. Instead, Milton Keynes Council thought it would be best to allow a developer to come in and destroy the houses and not even require that the materials be salvaged so as not to be so wasteful.
In addition, much of the greenery - shrubs, plants and trees were torn up, dumped on and ruined at exactly the time of year when birds and other wildlife are nesting and trying to raise young. Their homes would have also been blighted in this process.
Seeing this made us angry. We didn't know what else to do except get photos and document it.
Shame on the Council, the developers and English Partnerships, all of whom were complicit in allowing this to happen. In the name of Greed.

Yes the house was built in 1947 and is owned by "Fox Family Forest LLC."
Yes and as of 2020 the house rented for $2840, intended to be split four ways among four MSU students.
Haha do the student tenants love the idea of a "colonial revival."

Sinks are cool because they do two things:
1. They sometimes hold water -which rules when you want to wash your face or shave.
2. They sometimes don't hold water - which rules when you don't want all this water hanging around, cramping your style.
It's cool and stuff that water thinks enough of you to show up when you ask it too, but you don't want it to overstay it's welcome. It's all like "hey, water... would you look at the time (yawn) I've got a big day tomorrow" and water is all like "Cool story bro" and just continues to play your Xbox and gobble down your Doritos with not a care in the world. Not cool.
When that happens, push in that middle silver looking knob thing and that little silver thingy in the bottom of the sink will raise up, like a mighty bouncer outside the club, and will show water where to go to. Yeah buddy. That's what time it is.

As part of the Housing Studio of Aalto University in Spring 2012, Demos Helsinki recruited a group of some 25 Aalto students to act as focus group for the student housing course. Before the architecture students started designing, they each visited a home of another student and did an in-depth interview.
Three months later the recruited students were invited again to give feedback on the planned apartments.
The Housing Studio is part of Hoas Lab, a design project developing new tools for shared and sustainable housing. Hoas Lab is a joint project of Demos Helsinki and Helsinki Region Student Housing Foundation and is part of the official World Design Capital Helsinki 2012 programme. The project is supported by Tekes.
