Native Plant Society of Texas, Trinity Forks Chapter is organizing this outreach to primary schools in the district to try to teach students about the value of native plants. Students are creating art with native plants in the fall semester. A large committee made up of Trinity Forks members are judging the art by the end of the fall semester. Then all art is exhibited in different locations in the city (the two universities, Senior Center, city's public libraries, etc.) and the reception takes place in spring at Denton ISD. Students, parents, siblings, fiends, teachers and school administrators and Trinity Forks members are a big crowd at the reception. The art is exposed everywhere in the reception room. It is a joy to see students coming with their families, going through the the room looking for their creations, and being so happy when they find them.
Back to microscale : I just thought my Micropolis needed a university campus.
This is the Student accommodation. More buildings to come in the next few weeks (hopefully)

My students have passed their final examinations and it is a tradition on the next night for a pub crawl around Stratford upon Avon. The locals are a bit taken aback by all these young people in fancy dress. The weather was not brilliant but everyone was in high spirits.
Yes it’s a photo. This is a student at Simon Fraser University silhouetted against the awnings of the campus coffee shop.
This photo was taken in the University of Arizona Student Union. This photo was taken a few months ago and I decided to add the moon into it for a little more dramatic effect.

Back Story .................
.
OK, it's been awhile sense any school photos have been uploaded, but that doesn't mean I haven't been helping them learn. Actually I've been real busy with the abandoned jungle dogs that live with the crazy monkeys.
So here goes, 3 days a week, for a couple hours a day I help out at one of the local schools. There is 180 students and all of them are pretty good kids. Today was a test run to see how they would do with a big lens stuffed in their face, they all passed with flying colors...;-)
Tomorrow [Friday] is a big party starting at 5PM with a popular band and all parents attending. Presents will be exchanged and Christmas songs will be sung, big fun for all.
Tomorrow is going to be a real long day starting at 5AM with a run to the early morning market. Bunch of food and stuff will be purchased for the temple dogs and us.
Next, race home and start cooking all the goodies and prepare separate food bags with measured rations for each dog...Well the next move of course is to take off for the temple.
Never know exactly what to expect out there but I always have a pretty good idea what it could be.
By noon I should be back home and then it is my turn to shower, shave and eat, even catch a cat nap if possible.
Come 3 o'clock preparations will begin for the Christmas party at the school. That's Christmas party Thai Style.
Not sure when the party will end but plenty of photos will be taken and placed on CD's for all the students, parents, teachers and anybody who wants one.
Come Saturday no# 1 wife and I will be right back at the early morning market doing this all over again.
Thank you for dropping by and hope you are enjoying the holidays in your country...........;-)

I know, I know, you shouldn't have favourites but....
These kids are all about 14 years old and are in the advanced English class. We have so much fun together and they seem to really understand what is going on. I will really miss them. I seriously hope a few will come and see me in Australia in the future!
