East Sussex - went looking for these guys, it was raining initially, then when the sun came out a few started flying. Having never seen one before I wasn't sure if they were SSB's, as the iridescent studs weren't showing, I guess this was because they were always low down and out of the sun, and didn't close their wings till the sun went in. Having checked on the web I'm confident I have I'd them correctly.
It is hard to see in this picture but to keep the roofline in keeping with the house, my studio ceiling goes from 8' in the front to 6' in the rear where the shelves are. Not a problem for me and I don't usually even notice since I am sitting most of the time I am in the back.

Studded tubes coils well be used in a fired heater fabricated in my company main workshop( they are generally located in the convection section of the fired heater and they are usually used to generate vapour )
Another January weekend (21st & 22nd), with windy but otherwise very pleasant weather enabled me to make more progress than I expected. I have been able to complete the stud framing for the walls in 3 x 2 soft wood, using stainless screws to secure to the oak . The oak frame has not been designed to take wind loading so this has been incorporated in the stud work with four of the panels fully cross braced. I have used a further oak post and jointed into the sole and wall plates to frame the side door.
i've been away for so long from flickr, having an intense corporate job for over 3 years and getting sucked into that other social network's whirlpool..
now i'm back into focus. my passion prevails and it's the only thing that i do everyday, aside from guiding and helping my wonderful little daughter grow up and fly high in this world.

Borrowed a nice tool from fellow collector that has a drill guide that installs from the air-tube side and drills out the broken stud. Then tap, install new stud.
I managed to completely booger up the mixing chamber the first time - think the drill press was out of alignment or not square or the drill bit bit bent or something. Anyway - had the hole brazed, and re-drilled and tapped and installed - easy easy easy.
Now looking for a broken steel one to try again!
