A modular skyscraper that is the home of “The Daily Stud”, which delivers the latest news through the city!

This is by far my biggest build and it was also the most challenging one. It also took extremely long from the first digital design to the final build, since I was unable to move a stud for almost 2 years, due to building a real house. ;-) Most of the design was actually finished almost 3 years ago, so quite a bit before LEGO released the Daily Bugle. When that happened I lost the motivation to really finish it, but I finally re-visited it some months ago to finally finish it.

The skyscraper has 8 floors, which are fully furnished. It sits on two standard baseplates, is 107cm high and weighs about 16,2kg. The build contains 22.801 pieces and consists of 9 modules. It can be easily integrated into existing city layouts following the modular standard.

So, I thought I was long overdue to upload a full-body shot...

Now languishing in my old room at my folks house, this Technic helicopter was once a prized possession. Lego groups on Flickr inspired me to take this photo. The rotor root pieces in black are not original and are slightly longer too.

These are actually Nokian tires -- the brand that I have on my car!

Lady Linn, M&M soundsystem feat. Gerrit Kerremans en Nadiem Shah, Laston & Geo en Cole.

De foto's werden genomen op het Rits Café beach.

Several hundred in each tire, ready for the ice.

These studs originally came with a set of Seadogs foot braces, which require long bolts or screws. I shortened them conservatively, to 1 inch, more than enough for standard brand braces. The center photo shows after sanding around the initial application of thickened epoxy. At bottom, I've applied 9 oz. glass with medium thickened epoxy. To finish, I intend to apply a medium sized patch of 6 oz glass, laid on the diagonal.

A side note: Seadogs/Sea-lect braces do not use standard hole spacing! Be warned, if you intend to install a set, especially with glassed-in studs; it makes it difficult and cludgy to swap them out for other brands.
