For a week now I'm struggling around some lakes here in the vicinity to get a good sunset capture and a nice composition. Especially the last one was harder then expected. The sun seemed to be lower than I thought they didn't met the compositions that I've hoped for.

This one is taken after the sun went down, the intensity of the red and blue glow on the horizon really supprised me and I had to desaturate them so it wouldn't look like a painting. I've saturated the grass a bit so it looks some brighter and matches the rest.

The Struggle

R Keith Clontz and Leah Spitz collaborative project. I had the idea of using netting and rope to have an image that looked strong and powerful. I envisioned an image that elicits emotion and not just a pretty girl posing in the water. We all go through struggles in life and I wanted to show how difficult the struggle can be by portraying a girl (myself) trying to get untied from ropes. It may seem completely impossible to pull yourself out of the water, but someone with great strength can pull off the ropes and finally take a deep breath.

-- The struggle is a shared moment, always having to battle till we are worn out to the bone. We have a constant war that will be eternal but I am willing to live among the chaos for you. I will never give up...forever up against the odds with the world against us. It's our life story, written in blood dripping from our flesh. I can promise though that no matter what, I'll Fight for you. --

Real happiness needs no struggle nor endeavour, no reason nor cause; it is inherent in the real ‘I’. However you and I, we live on a wrong ‘I’, as it were. That is the mistake which has to be removed before we can claim our birthright on real happiness.

So says Ramana, the Maharshi. And he advises us to dive deep into ourselves with the question: ‘Who am I?’

Don’t expect an answer to it; there is none, because every possible answer which might come to our mind is wrong. However, he promises us that one day, provided our perseverance and patience keep us on the path, there will emerge a real ‘I’ the identity of the Great Experience, and together with it the true happiness, which is Satchi-dananda, the Bliss of Conscious Be-ing.

no inspiration, i'm sorry.

A person who has struggled in life will always be sensitive towards others, will value people and will be slightly more wise than someone who has never seen it.

Sunset in the Lake District on 20/09/26. This photo was taken looking south from the top of the Kirkstone Pass - right next to the Kirkstone Pass Inn. The Struggle, a road aptly named if you are trying to cycle up it, can be seen snaking off towards Ambleside.
