My family and I were at this new park over on the Northern Side of Fort Wayne, and as we were resting under a pavillion, I looked up and saw this! Something about the water stains in the wood and the geometry of the whole structure really pulled me in. Of course, as a photographer, I ran up to my car and grabbed my camera for the perfect shot!
Thanks, have an awesome day.

Defensive architecture in Portland. Just big enough to wait for a bus. Not big enough to relax or sleep on.
Failed cockatiel clutch had an egg with breached shell which led to dessication. As this is a situation not to be intentionally repeated it posed a rare photographic opportunity.
The 'Caldea' at Escaldes Engordany, on the northeastern edge of Andorra la Vella. One of the most striking pieces of modern architecture I've ever seen.
It was built in 1994 and houses a complex of thermal baths and swimming pools, in addition to a shopping centre and restaurant, on three different levels. The central hub of the building is crowned by the gleaming 'silver' glazed spire, which contains a viewing gallery accessed by lift (unfortunately not operational by the time we got there).
The complex is currently in the process of being enlarged. We didn't get inside the main thermal pool rooms but at least got a taste of the ultra modern interiors from the areas still accessible.
Andorra la Vella, capital of the Principality of Andorra is a largely modern city surrounded by mountain ranges, reflected in the typography of it's street layout which is on several different levels. It was thus never a large city with so little room for expansion.
There are medieval monuments such as the ancient Casa de la Vall (the old council chamber) and the church of St Esteve (mostly rebuilt in more modern times) but the overall flavour is contemporary, owing to modern architecture and sculptures around the city.
Over 1400 Firefighters from a Unified Command (LAFD, L.A. Co. Fire and the U.S. Forestry Department) were needed to fight this Major Emergency Brush Fire. 12,000 residents were evacuated and 615 structures destroyed. The fire has consumed approximately 9500 acres and 30% contained. © Photos by Juan Guerra
The first part of the homework dealing with structure. Made with acrylic black on white paper and a steelwool.
Actually I threw this one out of the series and replaced it with a different one. As my prof. has the originals at the moment, I'll put the final version online by the time I get it back.

It can also be used as a pop up shop, bar or catering space. #EvolutionDome #Venue #Stage #Festival #Alternative #Theater #CateringSpace #PopUpShop #PopUpBar #ShowSpace #Inflatable #Temporary #Structure #Awning
A close-up view of the Union Switch & Signal Model S-8 electro-mechanical interlocking machine. The electrical levers at center controlled the plant's signals and were connected to the mechanical levers (out of sight below) that operated switches, derails, and locks.

The original wasn't as saturated and lighter, this looks a bit more dramatic and cinematic. Taken in Blackpool at the Pleasure Beach, however didn't have enough money so couldn't actually go in! I took this on the road beside it.
This is ASR (Antenna Structure Registration) 102841, atop which three Louisville public radio stations share one six-bay omni-directional antenna with black radomes. The stations are WFPL/89.3, WFPK/91.9 ad WUOL/90.5.
WFPL and WUOL both have an ERP (effective radiated power) of 21 kw, and WFPK is 6.8 kw. Here are the other details for all three:
Site Location: 38-21-55.2 N 85-50-23.9 W (NAD 83)
(In the Floyds Knobs, Indiana tower farm)
Antenna Center HAAT: 236 m (774 ft.)
Antenna Center AMSL: 426 m (1398 ft.)
Antenna Center HAG: 132 m (433 ft.)
Calculated Site Elevation: 294 m. (965 ft.)
Height Overall*: 142 m (466 ft.)
Lower on the tower is W270CR, the FM translator for WLLV/1240 in Louisville, on 101.9FM. Details for that one:
Effective Radiated Power: 0.15 kW
Transmitter Output Power: 0.089 kW
Antenna Center AMSL: 370 m (1214 ft.)
Antenna Center HAG: 76 m (249 ft.)
Antenna ID: 122451
This 8-bay antenna appears to be the one for W270CR.

"Building"
STRUCTURES is a series of generative art pieces the explores the constructions of our world by taking photographs of man-made and natural structures and placing them into a new structure. This process semi-randomly fragments and rearranges the photographs into a grid of my design. I'll often run the images through this process several times, using various grid structures along the way.
