The American River College Parking Structure is still occupied by cars around 7 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 23, 2015. With the setting of the sun coming earlier in the day after the end of daylight saving time, many students are still on campus during the nighttime. (Photo by John Ferrannini)

Structure near Largs

This is said to be just a slipway but has a lot of similarities to a boom defence building.

Immediately S of a slipway 30m W of the gate lodge for Knock Castle (NS16SE 6) is a brick and concrete building with a flat roof. The building measures approximately 4m by 8m and is about 3.3m in height. It has four ventilators on the long side and two on the ends. The purpose to which this building was put is not known but it is almost certainly of military construction. At the N end a new rolling door has been fitted and its present use is possibly a garage.

Another inspiration was the mining structures that dot our landscape. The gold rush of 1859 brought settlement to the Colorado Front Range mountains.

Ruined structure at Rubha Clach Tholl, Port Appin

There is a ruined structure by the side of the track near Rubha Clach Tholl.

Mostly moss covered but one section of wall is mostly clear of moss. The structure I orientated North West - South East. It is visible on the 1st and 2nd Edition OS map but not identified. It appears to have a enclosure of similar size at the South West. The map shows another structure about 100ft South West of it but did not notice that.
