This structure has acted as the Knowles Country Store and the Knowles post office. The post office for the community was discontinued on January 3, 2004, and I don't know if the store is open these days or not.
Iron structured coast tanker was builded in England at 1944 and sold to Finnish owner. Tanker was sold again at 1954 to Turkish shipping company and renamed to Necati Pehlivan.
Turkish owners took possession of ship and left Marienhamn harbour at 26.9.1954. Soon after, tanker run aground in Lågskär and sinked to archipelago Åland, Baltic sea.

This structure was erected in 1939 to adjoin the county's older 1894 John Adams Courthouse. This one was designed by architects from the firm Desmond and Lord.

The current cathedral is built on the site of at least two previous structures dedicated to Finbarr of Cork. The first dated from the 7th century, with works continuing through the 12th century. This building was damaged during the Siege of Cork (1690), and a new structure was built in 1735 - though elements of the earlier spire were retained.
This structure remained until the 1860s, when a competition for the building of a new larger cathedral was held 1862. In February 1863, the designs of the architect William Burges was declared the winner of the competition to build a new cathedral of St Fin Barre. His diary records his reaction - "Got Cork!" - whilst the cathedral accounts record the payment of the winning prize sum of £100. Building work took seven years before the first service was held in the cathedral in 1870. Building, carving and decoration continued into the 20th century, long after Burges's death in 1881.
The style of the building is Early French, Burges's favoured period and a style he continued to favour throughout his life, choosing it for his own home, The Tower House, in Kensington. The stipulated price for construction was to be £15,000, a sum vastly exceeded. The total cost came to significantly over £100,000. Burges was "unconcerned" (his own words) in his letter of January 1877 to the Bishop of Cork: "(In the future) the whole affair will be on its trial and, the elements of time and cost being forgotten, the result only will be looked at. The great questions will then be, first, is this work beautiful and, secondly, have those to whom it was entrusted, done it with all their heart and all their ability."
Burges oversaw all aspects of the design, including the architecture of the building, the statuary, the stained glass and the internal decoration. The result is "undoubtedly Burges's greatest work in ecclesiastical architecture".

At 3:55AM on January 5, 2025 the Los Angeles City Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire in the 1500 block of W 206th St in Harbor Gateway South.
Firefighters arrived to find a one-story, single family dwelling with fire showing and immediately initiated an offensive fire attack.
Firefighters extinguished the fire in 25 minutes with no injuries reported.

“Palmer’s Early Wooden Structures”
“Before construction of the Alice Freeman Palmer Building, the school’s first brick structure, Brown built four wood frame buildings on the campus. To accomplish this, she and her students began a letter-writing project in 1902. The venture netted five hundred dollars. With this money and other donations, the first new building was erected in 1905.
Memorial Hall was a three-story building with an inviting appearance. The first floor included classrooms, offices, a library, and a dining room. The second floor was a chapel, and the third floor was the girls’ dormitory. A wide porch ran across the entire front of the building which made it seem home to students and teachers alike, the kitchen was located away from the main building.
Memorial Hall brought about a genuine feeling of togetherness on the campus. It was the center of campus activity. In 1909 Mary R. Grinnell, an early supporter of Brown, sent funds for a new home economics building. When completed, it was dedicated as the Mary R. Grinnell Cottage.
By 1916 Palmer’s campus included Memorial Hall (foundation is located under Kimball Hall, present on the campus today); Grinnell Cottage; Grew Hall, a dormitory for boys; and the Industrial Building, which contained workshops as well as a YMCA with reading rooms for boys.
Two fires, one on December 31, 1917, and another five years later in 1922, destroyed the Industrial Building and Memorial Hall. The frame structures were replaced by modern well-equipped buildings, ushering in a new academic program to meet the demands of a changing student body.”
