The cloister
Due to the nature of the Mont Saint Michel and the way that the abbey has needed to be constructed, the cloister is on top of the rest of the abbey buildings and not at the centre of the complex. Despite this, the cloister has maintained the form and functions of other cloisters found in all other monasteries with just a few subtle differences which set it apart, turning it into a symbolic representation of an ideal monastic life. Its function was purely spiritual: to bring the monks to meditate.
Three arches of the cloister are opened to the sea or to the outside. Those openings were the entryway to the chapter house that was never built. The columns, arranged in quincunx, were originally made of limestone from England but were later restored using puddingstone from Lucerne.
The cloister has in the middle a medieval garden recreated in 1966 by brother Bruno de Senneville, a Benedict monk. The center is made of box tree surrounded by 13 Damascus roses. The squares of medicinal plants, aromatic herbs and flowers symbolize the daily needs of Middle age monks. In the middle of the box trees were monsters to remind that in the middle of any marvel evil could still be there.

Modern Nur-Sultan is really a planned city, much like other planned capitals. After it became the capital of Kazakhstan in 1997, the city changed its shape enormously. The Japanese architect Kisho Kurokawa designed the master plan of the new capital. In March 2019 the name of the city was changed to Nur Sultan in honour of the first president of the new republic, of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev. Here the well known landmark, the Bayterek tower is in the image as well. The tower was designed by architect Norman Foster and is considered a symbol of post-independence Kazakhstan.

Istiqlal Mosque (Indonesian: Masjid Istiqlal, lit. 'Independence Mosque') in Jakarta, Indonesia is the largest mosque in Southeast Asia and the sixth largest mosque in the world in terms of worshipper capacity. Built to commemorate Indonesian independence, this national mosque of Indonesia was named "Istiqlal", an Arabic word for "independence".
The mosque was opened to the public on 22 February 1978. Within Jakarta, the mosque is positioned next to Merdeka Square and the Jakarta Cathedral (Catholic) and also of the Immanuel Church (Reformed)

L'eau coule...
L’eau a coulé tout l’automne et tout l’hiver dans les ruisseaux du parc, ainsi nous pouvons espérer la présence prochaine de quelques Parulines qui éventuellement pourrait peut-être créer à nouveau la frénésie que nous avons connu il y a deux ans à la Petite chute pelé... J’y suis arrêté à quelques reprises cette semaine, lors de mes tournées au parc, outre les Bruants chanteurs et un couple de Cardinal rouge, j’aurai eu le grand plaisir de capter ce Bruant des marais, constamment sur le qui-vive, chassé par les Bruants chanteur qui ne semblaient pas apprécier sa présence. Les prochains jours seront peut-être indicateur de ce que la petite chute pourra nous offrir tout au cours du mois de mai. Après avoir vu ce beau bruant à plusieurs reprises ces dernières années à l'Île-Bizard et au Ruisseau de Feu de Terrebonne, ce fut pour moi une première d'avoir pu le croiser et le capter au parc Angrignon.
