Der Kleine Kohn, ehemaliger Leuchtturm auf der früheren Insel und jetzigen Binnenhalbinsel Julssand, war bis zum 11.01.2010 in Betrieb. Jetzt markiert das unter Denkmalschutz stehende Bauwerk immer noch die Einfahrt zum Haseldorfer Hafen.
Der Strommast der 1959-1962 errichteten Elbekreuzung 1 steht auf schleswig-holsteinischer Seite auf Julssand, der Tragmast der 1976-1978 errichteten Elbekreuzung 2 an der Hetlinger Schanze. Um die Durchfahrtshöhe von 75 m zu erreichen, wurden die Strommasten der Elbekreuzung 2 mit einer Höhe von 227 m die höchsten Strommasten Europas, eine Zeitlang waren sie sogar die höchsten der Welt. Die jeweiligen Gegenstücke auf niedersächsischer Seite stehen auf der Elbinsel Lühesand im Landkreis Stade.
The Kleine Kohn, former lighthouse on the former island and current inland peninsula Julssand, was in operation until 01/11/2010. The building, which is under monument protection, still marks the entrance to Haseldorfer Hafen. The electricity pylon for Elbe crossing 1, built in 1959-1962, is on Julssand on the Schleswig-Holstein side, and the support pylon for Elbe crossing 2, built in 1976-1978, on Hetlinger Schanze. In order to reach the passage height of 75 m, the electricity pylons of the Elbe crossing 2 with a height of 227 m were the highest electricity pylons in Europe, for a while they were even the highest in the world. The respective counterparts on the Lower Saxony side are on the Elbe island of Lühesand in the district of Stade.

Rice paddies below one of Shanghai's main power supply routes.
The power lines are actually the reason that there are still some rice paddies, below the line no construction is allowed, for obvious reasons...

In diesem Nest, hoch oben auf einem Strommasten, wird das Storchenkücken gefüttert, es hat den heimkehrenden Elternvogel sehnlichst erwartet.
In this nest, high up on a power pole, the stork chick is being fed, it has been eagerly awaiting the returning parent bird.
Botschaft auf Distanz. Einfach mal anzupfen.

Maybe a passable new way to get the latest news out? Maybe we should take an example from this tree, which apparently conducts its conversations by plucking ;-) Something like how a telegram works? Today I was on a long walk with a good friend to talk, a bit arduous through partially frozen and slushy paths – but very nice :-))

Vielleicht eine passable neue Möglichkeit, die neuesten Nachrichten zu versenden? Vielleicht sollten wir uns ein Beispiel an diesem Baum nehmen, der anscheinend seine Gespräche durch Zupfen führt ;-) So ähnlich wie ein Telegramm funktioniert? Ich war heute mit einer guten Freundin auf einem langen Spaziergang zum Reden, etwas beschwerlich durch teilweise gefrorene und mit Schneematsch bestückte Wege – aber sehr schön :-))

Series »Winter's Bone«
I pass through this section of Cornwall's bike path on my daily commute. It runs parallel to a series of electric towers that cut through the Riverdale forest. Only a few are visible with the snowfall.
Nur noch vereinzelt sieht man "Schneeflecken" am Straßenrand und auf den Feldern. Es ist nun März und es geht in Riesenschritten auf den Frühling zu.
Sometimes a plan is completely not working out. Originally I wanted to shoot the rising moon with a completely different setting. I had checked all of my apps, visited the location and divined the direction of the moon with a compass. But then, when the mood was appearing at the night sky he didn't abide to my calculations and did rise a large bit aside. So I had to recompose my image on a distance of 10 to 15 km, in the dark, in less then five minutes. This is the result. What do You think.? I don't like the name of the image. If You have a better Idea, please tell me.
Manchmal geht ein Plan einfach nicht auf. Ursprünglich wollte ich den Mondaufgang in einer ganz anderen Kulisse fotografieren. Ich hatte alle Apps geckeckt, mir den Lokation genau angesehen und mit dem Kompass die Richtung des Mondes ermittelt. Als der dann am Nachthimmel erschien hielt er sich jedoch nicht an meine Berechnungen und ging ein großes Stück daneben auf. Also musste ich spontan die Komposition ändern, auf eine Entfernung von 10 - 15 km und im Dunkeln, in weniger als fünf Minuten. Das ist dann dabei heraus gekommen. Was haltet Ihr davon ? Ich mag den Namen des Fotos nicht wirklich. Ich bin offen für bessere Ideen.
If you can't beat 'em , join 'em. I commented along with my last image that there were a lot of overhead cables in this area so I thought , might as well use them to my advantage. I took this near Montalcino as the sun was setting.
( Please note these are main pylons running through the area and there are not many of this size, some of the larger farms have small pylons , other than that it's mostly telegraph poles like anywhere else ).
