The photograph shows Moritzplatz, a section of Augsburg's city centre, at night. The light stars have been generated by a small aperture.
I've taken a sunrise photo at this location a few years back, but every sunrise is different, and this time if you look to the right of the tree you can see the crescent moon!

This is a sequence of shots that i blended together of an egret coming in for a landing at the top of this tall tree.
Object: M31 - Andromeda Galaxy (Sept 2025)
Never say never! I swore I would not do this target again, but I was at a very dark site and needed a wideband image to test out my new portable setup and M31 seemed as good as any!
A large spiral galaxy in our “local group” of galaxies named for the mythological princess Andromeda and located in the Constellation of the same name. The galaxy is estimated to be 2.5 million light years distant and is also estimated to be 220,000 light years across with a halo weighing in at 1.23 trillion solar masses containing over a trillion suns within its boundaries.
Other names: Messier 31, M31, or NGC 224
Other objects in FOV:
-M32 - compact elliptical galaxy that is believed to be the remnant core of a much larger galaxy that M31 stripped of its mass during a past collision.
-M110 – The largest of M31’s satellite galaxies that is currently interacting with it.
-NGC206 – a bright star cluster within M31 that has a radius of 400 lightyears. It contains hundreds of O & B type stars.

Fountains Abbey is the largest monastic ruins in Britain. Founded in the first half of the 12th century and closed by King Henry VIII just over 400 years later. In 1540 the estate was sold with a condition of sale requiring the abbey buildings to be made unfit for religious use. As a result the roofs were pulled down and much asset stripping took place at that time.

The strip of field which always seems to be left fallow, and always full of wild flowers too. more rain again today.
Looks like we have a severe weather warning in place, big storm Francis with winds of 70MPH and heave rain, it may pass North of my location in Sussex but we shall see. Storms in summer sounds crazy so hold onto your hats .
Who knew that the simple parking lot of a strip mall could provide the backdrop for the magnificent panorama of a summer-storm sunset?

So I tried it and this is my second attempt, posted for
Saturday Self-Challenge: something I found.
The flowers came from my archive of pink flowers - and I couldn't resist also adding a border to the image.

The Maasai giraffe (Giraffa camelopardalis tippelskirchi), also called Kilimanjaro giraffe, is the largest subspecies of giraffe. It is native to East Africa. The Masai giraffe can be found in central and southern Kenya and in Tanzania.
It has distinctive, irregular, jagged, star-like blotches that extend to the hooves. A median forehead lump is usually present in bulls.
The giraffe's prehensile tongue is about 45 cm (18 in) long. It is purplish-black in colour, perhaps to protect against sunburn, and is useful for grasping foliage, as well as for grooming and cleaning the animal's nose. The upper lip of the giraffe is also prehensile and useful when foraging and is covered in hair to protect against thorns. The tongue and inside of the mouth are covered in papillae.
