It's flying birds this week at Feathery Friday. I haven't got too many shots of birds in flight but it is one of my photography goals and with the new camera I hope to get lots of practice.
This bird was circling over the farm buildings at the Farmers' Museum in Cooperstown, NY. Not sure what it is or if the strings were attached or being carried. Really a bit out of range for this lens but interesting. If anyone recognizes the bird or what is going on, please let us know.
Late getting this up today but happy Feathery Friday everyone and have a great weekend!

Here the strings have been installed and tensioned; now the snare strings just have to be "tuned". This involves adjusting the tensions and strategically placing adhesive tape over the strings so as to prevent resonant buzzes while still allowing for a good snare sound.

For the Festival of Strings I thought I would whip up a quick table runner following Rachel's tutorial, but I made a few changes to the block size. These blocks are narrower, which worked better for me. Now waiting to be quilted, but my backing and binding are all done.
