The water is so low in Boulder Reservoir that these shoreline trees are about gone. The west winds have knocked down many of them already.
I've been told the best portraits are the ones where the subject is able to relate emotions we all go through in life
this setup was very simple,
2 Speedlights with grids on each side of my subject creating a nice moody image.

Spare a thought for Santa?
This dress rehearsal has descended into chaos!
The harness has broken, and there's reindeers all over the place!

Anytime I am in need of a little stress relief, I always look to the sea. It never disappoints. :-)

Stress is a funny thing, it is something that we simply can't do anything about yet we like to have it everywhere we go. We love it at work for it makes us feel important. We like it at home, for it helps us keep things in order. In fact we adore it so much we even bring it along for our vacation. Stress is an essential part of our life, it keeps us in check just so we can achieve our goals. Stress itself is not the cause for our unhappiness, your reaction to it is. Hence cheer up my friends and be happy you have stress, it simply means you are an important person.
I’ve been practicing mindfulness and breathing exercises for stress reduction. I’ve discovered it also helps to picture a scene like this.
What do you presently feel?
does it currently match all you see?
over the ripples in your mind;
a watermark upon your diary
that rara avis as yet unsigned
where jagged driftwood now rests
-that incessant peaking of your rancour,
let it mellow now,
with all the worldly subtleties of time
washing over social strains it does avow
let this sojourn lap upon your fears
a ripple at a time; subconscious theurgy
within yourself, you are always free
the outside is for whom?
reflecting seconds soon turns wintry
inside, your heart beats veraciously
for you...
it needs no veneer upon it's stage
now refocus with clear fluvial energy
like browsing a watermark upon the page.

When I have too much stress I have a recurring dream. I am back in Graduate School and already have a job lined up for after graduation. It is the night before a final which it an essay final on a book I haven't read. My entire grade in this class rides on that exam and the realization that there is no way for me to pass sets in. I usually wake up before the exam starts.
