The Rising
Bruce Springsteen
[Verse 2]
Left the house this morning
Bells were ringing and filled the air
I was wearing the cross of my calling
On wheels of fire, I come rolling down here
[Chorus]
Come on up for the rising
Come on up, lay your hands in mine
Come on up for the rising
Come on up for the rising tonight

Yoho National park, Kniking Horse River before entering the huge crack, called Natur Bridge, formed by the thaws and the strength of the rapids. The sunset in this corner is impressive and nobody was there. On the opposite side, you can see the peaks of the Morraine lake.

*We're lost in a cloud
With too much rain
We're trapped in a world
That's troubled with pain
But as long as a man
Has the strength to dream
He can redeem his soul and fly

In memory of those that we have lost and in celebration of those with courage and compassion...
The remnant trunk of what would have been a tall strong tree. The tree would have provided food and shelter.
Nehemiah 8:10 NIV Nehemiah said, “Go and enjoy choice food and sweet drinks, and send some to those who have nothing prepared. This day is holy to our Lord. Do not grieve, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.”
John 16:22 NIV So with you: Now is your time of grief, but I will see you again and you will rejoice, and no one will take away your joy.
These are called Resurrection Ferns. They were on the old Camphor Tree out front the first year I moved here (2013) and since cut down. I cannot for the life of me remember what happened that motivated my choice in this two verses way back then ... but I'm leaving them as is. God knows ...

Nitroglobus is proud to announce the return of acclaimed artist Kian with his new exhibition DRAG.ed & FRAME.d, on view throughout December 2025 at The Annex of Nitroglobus.
After his last showing, Zornian Women (June 2023), I repeatedly invited Kian to present new work. His return marks not only a renewed collaboration but also a striking continuation of his distinctive artistic voice.
In DRAG.ed & FRAME.d, Kian delves into themes that lie at the heart of his practice—humor, daring aesthetic choices, and provocative conceptual play. The series moves fluidly “between power and vulnerability,” as the artist describes, exploring identity, performativity, and the thresholds between constructed and perceived selves.
Kian is back with a topic that is unmistakably his. His work is daring, humorous, and thought-provoking, encouraging visitors to look beyond boundaries and conventions. I’m sincerely happy to welcome him again to Nitroglobus.
Visitors are encouraged to read Kian’s accompanying text, which offers a deeper look into the conceptual motivations behind the exhibition.
Opening party: Monday, 1st December, 12 PM SLT

Description by the artist:
Welcome to Drag.ed and Frame.d—an intimate visual journey shaped through the art of drag and the boundless possibilities of photography. These images reveal a character who shifts fluidly between power and vulnerability: at times bold, vibrant, and unapologetically commanding; at others quiet, fragile, and suspended in moments of loneliness. Through this duality, I explores the emotional spectrum of identity and performance, challenging how we see strength, beauty, and self-expression.
Drag, in his hands, becomes more than costume—it becomes a language. A space where diversity thrives, where boundaries of gender, presence, and reality are stretched and redefined. Each photograph invites viewers to question what is real, what is constructed, and what lies in the in-between.
Thank you for stepping into this world. May these images encourage you to embrace complexity, celebrate difference, and find truth in every transformation.

The Oak Leaf Cluster has long been a symbol of strength and valor so it is only fitting this Bald Eagle would be carrying it.
whenever there is a storm, trees are broken, destroyed, no matter how big they are, they cannot resist the force of the wind. Even the strongest trees are like a toy for strong winds. The bamboo isn't. Bamboo bends, it flexes, nearly touches the floor, but never breaks. It resists the storms, the strongest winds. Yet, it keeps its delicate structure.
Like the bamboo is a good man's character. A man can undergo hard, difficult, tough times, for which he must adapt, but must never break, never lose his sense of self. A man must keep his essence now matter how bad the world is treating him.
Love and compassion are necessities, not luxuries. Without them humanity cannot survive

I have a dear friend who is going through some difficulties in her life. She has been suffering from an illness not yet diagnosed. She's been losing weight, has fatigue, her body and skin aches and burns and her doctors have been running tests but haven't found an answer for her. I have been thinking about her and her situation a lot lately and wish I could do something to help. If anyone has had similar ailments maybe we could help figure out what is wrong. I'm sending healing and positive vibes out for her and hope that her doctors will finally be able to give her an answer.
Thank you RLB for always believing in me and bringing out the best in everyone you encounter.

This was taken in Durham Cathedral - Galilee Chapel. It was taken in a brightly lit chapel and I played around balancing aperture and shutter speed to get the shot I wanted.

Never confuse my desire for peace with a lack of resolve. Restraint is not weakness, nor is mercy a lack of strength. I choose peace because I know the weight of violence, the scars it leaves, and the cost it demands. But threaten those I love, and you will find my will unshakable, my defense unwavering. The same hands that offer comfort can strike with precision, and the heart that seeks harmony can burn with righteous fury. My patience is boundless, but my protection is absolute: a force immovable, unyielding, fierce.
The massive roof beams in this 14th century tithe barn in Lacock village, Wiltshire, UK supported a structure that was built to last. This ceiling was restored in 2007 using the same methods & materials as the original, including wooden oak pegs. I'm glad that I looked up while I visited and didn't miss this awesome ceiling!

Social cohesion is when people share common values and goals, and have a sense of belonging to a community. It's not just about race or faith, but how people get along with each other in their local area.
Boston has a long history of migration, driven by demand for labour in the agriculture and food production sectors. The population dynamics of many cities and rural areas have changed, and this has sometimes created social tensions.
