I spotted this sculpture on Laisvės Alėja in Kaunas, but there was no plaque in sight. Neither Mr. Google nor G.P.T. Chat could crack the mystery of its creator. Honestly, it looks like something straight out of John Carpenter’s The Thing (1982) - a true classic!

A delightful sculpture outside a Kaunas cinema referencing the early days of movies.

This shot was taken just outside the Muhammad Amin Khan Madrasah, featuring a close-up of the Kalta Minor minaret — known for its striking turquoise tile bands and unfinished height. Framing the tower in full wasn’t possible here, so I chose a tighter composition to focus on patterns, textures, and light.

At the base of the minaret sits a life-size bronze sculpture of two men chatting, with a samovar bubbling at their feet — a quiet nod to Khiva’s long-standing traditions of hospitality and tea culture. It’s one of several street-style statues in Itchan Kala that celebrate everyday moments in Uzbek life. The mix of monumental architecture and informal storytelling creates a layered visual that feels timeless and amuzing.

Well to get this shot I had to go somewhere I have not been to since 19something ! Apart from traffic issues this is only half an hourish away but I have never been a fan of Kingston . As a child I got taken there a number of times and never liked it - particularly the market .Any way this stack of old red phone boxes is a street sculpture called " Out Of Order " .

One of the more unusual sights in Kingston , Out of Order by David Mach, is a sculpture in the form of twelve disused red telephone boxes that have been tipped up to lean against one another in an arrangement resembling dominoes. The work was commissioned in 1988 as part of the landscaping for the new Relief Road, and was described by its creator as "anti-minimalist".

In Antwerp, Belgium, you can find this sculpture representing the love and friendship between dogs and children. It depicts Nello and Patrasche, the heroes of the 19th-century novel A Dog of Flanders, sleeping under a cobblestone blanket.

Every February thousands of people converge on little Evandale to witness the National Penny Farthing Championships. There is a growing number of old bike enthusiasts who make the pilgrimage and enjoy the festivities. Some are truly vintage Penny Farthings, whilst quite a number have been custom built.

It has been running since 1983 and believe me they go fast!

I have entitled this photograph, “Barry’s Bike” after local San Diego photographer, Barry Alman, who popularized this composition of the bike sculpture cruising on the Coronado Bridge. Barry is a fixture on KUSI News and can be seen most days making photographs of the sunset along San Diego’s many beaches.

A jaunty canopy of suspended umbrellas and parasols add to the festive delight of Câmera de Lobos, a busy little fishing village five kilometres to the west of Funchal, the Madeiran capital. This is said to be where the Portuguese explorer João Gonçalves Zarco, the man who discovered Madeira, first landed in 1419 – though possibly not with umbrellas.

This large piece has an estimated value at $180,00.00 . I think it should be snapped up either by the Whitney Museum or by MOMA. They are crazy if they don't get this piece.
