Little stream that meanders through the field behind where I work

By Stacy Hill, Drouin

Entrant in the Gippsland Water National Water Week Photo Competition, October 2011

I love this small stream gorge just a few miles from my home outside Marietta Ohio. I have over my time on Flickr posted quite a few photos of it, I went back this past Sunday 10 April 2022 to get a few more photos and some video while there was a good flow of water in the small stream. The stream often completely disappears in the summer leaving behind just the gorge it has carved out over countless thousands of years. Also I wanted to take the photos before the trees leaf up again making the waterfall and cliff face harder to see.

These are just a few pics of the many little mountains streams we found while exploring the area this fall. These are right off the roadway and made for a very scenic drive.

Banana/rice dog cookies: easy to make, and maybe good for those who have been a bit poorly. Take one over-ripe banana, mash it in a bowl with a fork. Add one egg and mix well. Add one teaspoon of ginger (or other spice or something like parsley to your dog's taste). Add as much rice flour (between 1/2 and 1 cup) as will make a soft dough, mix with a fork until the sides of your bowl are clean. One teaspoon at a time, roll into a ball and put on a cookie sheet lined with parchment. Indent with a fork dipped in cold water. Bake in a 375 degree oven for 20-25 minutes, until crisp and golden brown. Baggins loves them!

A happy accident this,I made a short video but forgot that the camera was set for doing long exposure shots,so it filmed at just 4 frames per second.

By looping the video three times and speeding it up I managed to rescue it,quite a strange effect...
