Unfortunately, it was raining and the carp streamers were not swimming. Underneath the black net is a water channel where wasabi is grown.

An upward unconnected leader (or upward streamer as it is more commonly termed) is a positively charged channel of ionized air that rises from ground objects (like buildings, towers, trees or even the ground itself) towards a negatively charged downward-moving "stepped leader" from a storm cloud. When an upward leader "connects" with a downward leader, the lightning bolt we see occurs. It is possible to catch (in a photo) one or some of the upward leaders who "didn't make it" to connect with the downward one.

This is the main lobby rotunda at the Florida state capital. Apparently many high schools in the state were invited to do streamers depicting things that were important to them. The result was three stories of a colorful display.
Not only does the barn swallow have the distinction of being the most widely distributed and abundant of all swallows, it is also one of the most familiar bird species in the world. Having historically bred in caves, today it has almost completely converted to constructing its nest under the eaves of buildings, and it is this long association with human habitation that makes it quite so familiar, as well as earning the species its common name. This popular bird is admired for its supreme agility in flight, with a slender body, long, narrow, pointed wings, and a deeply-forked tail with long streamers allowing the barn swallow to spend most of its time on the wing. It has an attractive plumage of steely blue-black upper parts, red throat, and black wings and tail that sit in start contrast to pale underparts. The male and female bird are very similar in appearance, although the tail streamers tend to be longer on the male, but the juvenile has paler underparts and a less deeply forked tail.
I found this one at Dinner Island Ranch Wildlife Management Area in Hendry County, Florida.

The Nanbu Shrine in Nabekura Park in Tono. I usually think of streamers like this in association with temples!
Streamers is built as a participative public sculpture made out of recycled loudspeakers, tube radios, hifi furniture and modern interactive media. SPEAKERS SCULPTURES are interactive sound sculptures by Berlin-based Franco-American artist Benoît Maubrey. They are conceived on site and reflect their local environment and are constructed from up to 3000 recycled loudspeakers (all connected). The sculptures can function both as a mobile “Speakers Corner“ — a “hotspot“ for local participation and self-expression but also as a forum for small events and concerts.
