Cloud at sunset shows the complexity of front movement over the Gold Coast in southeast Queensland. There is rain on the way but when, where and how much? This panorama centred around Mt Somerville in the north of New South Wales was taken looking south over the border with Queensland.

Work is a wee bit hectic at the moment, so before heading to the maelstrom this morning, I took some time out at Islandhill to gather my thoughts. Loved the little linear stratus clouds :)

What a cloud. We were driving across the border into the Northern Territory, the land was flat as a pancake. we were surrounded by this amazing weather system. I got a few good ones but couldn't decide which one to post. We managed to drive right beside this one. It was one hell of a dump of rain.

Descending into a layer of stratus just after midnight with the moon ahead surrounded by a halo in the cirrostratus. The star nearest the moon is Jupiter and the two to the right are Algieba (above) and Regulus (below) in Leo. The orange glow is the lights of London coming through the cloud. You can see the blur in this 2s exposure to the sides of the picture giving the sense of movement, the focal point is sharp.
