Another one that was slightly out of left field.... The brief was to take a single image that represented a research project on people's reactions to the Swine Flu epidemic. I got to thinking about images in the media of people wearing masks (admittedly in the far east, but the budget didn't exactly stretch to a trip out there for the sake of authenticity! Besides, the research was done in Glasgow), so we set up a similar situation on Duke Street. As for the swine flu... Well you can't beat a girl in a rubber pig mask!

The University of Strathclyde is a public research university located in Glasgow, Scotland, United Kingdom. Founded in 1796 as the Andersonian Institute, it is Glasgow's second-oldest university, with the university receiving its royal charter in 1964 as the UK's first technological university. It takes its name from the historic Kingdom of Strathclyde.

The James Weir Building, part of Strathclyde University on Montrose Street, Glasgow (one seriously steep street!). The architects were Wylie, Shanks and Underwood who were also responsible for, amongst others for the College of Commerce and The College of Building and Printing in Cathedral Street.#glasgow #glasgowcity #glasgowcitycentre #strathclydeuni #strathclydeuniversity #universityofstrathclyde #wylieshanksarchitects #wylieshanksunderwood #jamesweirbuilding #glasgowarchitecture #scottisharchitecture #insta_glasgow

Glasgow has a fantastic array of street murals. These impressive creations decorate blank end walls and vacant buildings and help to tranform otherwise less attractive corners of the city into striking public art works. This walk visits many of the most impressive creations within the city centre; the artworks give great focus to an exploration of the city on foot. These works are emphemeral by nature; they are created, recreated and lost as buildings move into and out of use; some of the murals may change or be removed in the future. If a shorter walk is needed, the length can be reduced by more than half whilst still seeing most of the murals by leaving the walk after the Mitchell Street murals and returning to Buchanan Street from there.

The “Wonderwall” celebrates the people of the University of Strathclyde and their many significant achievements. Almost 200 metres long from start to finish and incorporating three 7- storey gables the project was completed by Art Pistol with Rogue-One and Ejek.

We also see the Dansken equatorial telescope featured, which was once used to teach nautical astronomy. And the Land-Ship was a mock up navigation bridge on the roof of the School of Navigation in the Royal College, used to teach the principles of compass adjustment.

I still have a casette tape taken directly from the mixing desk, featuring stunning bum notes by Mr Edge. The encore consisted of them playing the first two songs from their set list again! This was also in the days when the drummer, LMJ, had a confedrate flag stitched on the back of his Levi jacket ... I guess back then they hadn't yet discovered their fascination for Martin Luther King.

On a sunny day...

dom, scott and i went to strathclyde uni library to study night before our exam but we couldn't actually get down to work so had to work at seperate tables like primary school kids.

The nearest I have to a team photo this season

Taken using the crazy old Voigtländer Kontur viewfinder – the one that you can't actually see through. Strangely, that actually seems to make it easier to frame shots in low-light conditions.

Infrared camera used for college project, didn't have much time so we just went out to get a few quick shots up and around the Strathclyde uni area, and up to the Glasgow Cathedral and Necropolis.

Not sure about this one, was pretty dark tried to pull it back.... a rescue mission lol

There is a lot of Ivy growing up and around the trees and tombs, which works really well for the IR.
