It's going to be a bit boring around here for a while I think, we're moving in 2 weeks and there's so much to sort and pack :( boo!
I am still cleaning up post-fire (the fire was tiny - the damage was all from the extinguisher [and the axe the firefighters used on the stove]; oh, and then the restoration crew damaged the kitchen floor moving the refrigerator to clean behind it - what? you're supposed to clean behind the refrigerator? whoops! - and now they are having it replaced). I am doing a lot of cleaning, sorting, and purging. And cataloging for the insurance company.
Meanwhile, we leave for our vacation in a few days and I'm on my usual sewing binge (oh, the outfits I have planned for my vacay! oh, the sleepless nights they will involve to actually pull off! oh, the disappointment when they won't actually happen!).
Anyway, chin up, smiley face on, powering through.
They recently re-did the gazebo down at the poulsbo pavilion. I'm not sure if the ceiling was part of it, but I sure loved the pattern and warm color of the wood.

Taking a page from Minty I thought I'd do a few Color Week SP shots. I actually had an orange shirt for Tuesday, but decided to play "Theme of the Week" instead, so I'm starting with yellow.
This is one of my favorite winter sweaters, a mustard yellow merino V-neck from Club Monaco. I love these super thin, fine-gauge sweaters, which partially explains why I don't knit a lot of sweaters.

This was an adventure which I'll post more info later. Basically our suspectedly little couple hour hike along bark covered pathways with benches to rest every couple of hundred feet turned out to be....................NOT!!!
But stubborn ass I am I wasn't going to stop until we got to the top. Learnings: there are no easy paths in life. If the path looks easy, it's because you will pay for it later by going straight up.

Before and after (kinda) shots - I cut off a bunch of my hair to donate to locks of love. It would have been shorter...more on that later when I do a straightup shot of the new do.
The stylist, btw, thought I was very strange, taking photos of my braids.
Husband was surprised...even tho he knew it was coming - after all, that's a lot of hair to deal with in 99 - 100+ degree weather!
