The 1941 Chevrolet 1/2 ton pickup was part of the AK Series, a range of pickup trucks sold under the Chevrolet brand, produced from 1941 through 1947. It used the GM A platform, shared with the Chevrolet Deluxe. The AK series was also branded and sold at GMC locations, with the primary visual difference being the Chevrolet had vertical bars in the grille, while the GMC had horizontal bars. The 1941-45 GMC models were sold as the C-Series and became E-Series for the 1946 and 1947 model years (CC-Series/EC-Series for the conventional cab models and CF-Series/EF-Series for the COE ones).

The AK series represented an appearance split from previous Chevrolet products where the passenger cars and pickup trucks shared a common appearance, as demonstrated in the Chevrolet Master truck. The Chevrolet Deluxe was an all-new appearance when it was introduced in 1941, and shared much of its mechanicals with the second generation Chevrolet Suburban. The truck is considered the second real truck produced by General Motors since trucks preceding the Master trucks were completely car-based, and thus coupe utilities.

It only had one availble engine, the Chevrolet Stovebolt engine, a straight-six engine made in two versions between 1929 and 1962 by the Chevrolet Division of General Motors. It replaced the company's 171-cubic-inch (2.8 L) inline-four as their sole engine offering from 1929 through 1954, and was the company's base engine starting in 1955 when it added the small block V8 to the lineup. It was completely phased out in North America by 1962, but GM continued to build it in Brazil until 1979.

This coupé was designed by Philippe Charbonneaux and built by Carrosserie DUCLOS. One of the many French bodywork builders still existing after world war 2. They would all disappear by the 1960s, symbolizing the slow collapse of the French industrial expertise in many areas.

Spa Classic 2017

Truck I owned from 1980 until 1983. It had a simple, bomb-proof 223 cid six under the hood and, originally, a three-on-the-tree stick (that was, until I converted the transmission to floor shift).

I originally shot this with a Canon AE-1, IIRC, on Fuji F-II print film (edge code F-II•677). The only remaining picture I had was cut up, but I still had the negatives. I used my Poor Man's Slide Transfer Rig to photograph the negative, then created the positive in Photoshop. This is my first try at such a conversion, and I'm surprised at how well this turned out.

The parking lot where this photo was taken no longer exists, the site now home to a university village with instructional and office space, residence halls, dining facilities, and underground parking.

The radiator view of a 1938 Alvis Speed 25 3.5 Litre SC Drop Head, seen at a recent car auction at Buxton. According to the sales information , this particular example has had a recent lovingly done restoration and re-body as the old wooden frame had become rotten throughout. She looked splendid in her DHC configuration and was won of my favourite cars there. All I've got to do is win the lottery by 10o'clock this morning and she could be mine!

On a waterfall adventure this afternoon with Flickr friend Ray Love, we came across this old car resting deep in the forest

Green Ronart W152 - YSF 625 - seen at the Lancaster Insurance Classic Motor Show and Classic Motorbike Show held at The National Exhibition Centre, Birmingham, England, November 2017.

These cars, using Jaguar parts, were designed to reference the famous Mercedes race cars of the 1930s-50s - the Silver Arrows. This one was built in the 1990s. It uses a Jaguar 6 cylinder 4.2 Litre engine.

Any additional information clarifying the vehicle's make, model, modifications made and its specific history will be welcomed.
