Poles for stabilization...

at the Walk a Mile in Her Shoes men's march to raise awareness about rape, sexual assault, and gender violence.

DSA = Defense Service Asia

Folks came together from all across the Bay Area to stand up together to say No More. Rape is a men's issue, a civil rights issue, and everyone's problem. Amazing speaker from Youth Speaks shared what he had experienced and learned from talking with high school students around the Bay in the wake of the latest gang-rape. It was awesome to see so many men owning the problem, and speaking to it. I needed to go to Richmond to walk around the community, show up in solidarity, and represent the fact that this ISN'T a 'Richmond Problem' but a universal behavior that needs to excised from all cultures as acceptable. And also to help myself process. Yes, it happened in Richmond, but it happened at Cornell, it happens all over the place. not ok. at all.

just a few pictures. The mayor of Richmond, by the way, came, spoke, and delivered. Awesome lady.
