Digitalis - The term digitalis is also used for drug preparations that contain cardiac glycosides, particularly one called digoxin, extracted from various plants of this genus. Foxglove has medicinal uses but is also very toxic to humans and other animals, and consumption can even lead to death.

Tremendous Thursday to you. Be good.

Taken for the Macro Monday theme of Bottle(s) - HMM!

What started out as a day of architectural photography ended up being a day of avoiding the mist and fog that shrouded Manchester and the Pennines. We ended up on the Yorkshire Dales near the village of Settle, dressed completely in the wrong clothing and footwear for clambering down slippery hillsides to get to waterfalls.

Of all the falls I've been to in England, Scotland and New York State, this has to be my favorite of them all so far.

When the inversion layer stops you in your tracks & you wish you had a better lens

With a sight and sound that commands attention from even the hardiest of souls, Colas unit 70810 powers up and accelerates her train of log carriers through Preston station on an autumnal Sunday afternoon last year.

The working is the 10.30am Chirk Kronospan - Carlisle Yard (6C37) and, as often seems to be the case, empty wagons make more of a commotion rattling around than they do fully loaded. In this case, under the enclosed and echoey roof, there certainly wasn't much scope for meaningful conversation until the train had passed.

This is the sister shot to the more conventional 'Log Rhythms' posted a few weeks ago. I figured this one merited its own outing.

Better viewed full screen - comments off, thanks.

🔺thank you for visits, comments and favs🔻

The clouds were moving so fast. I got excited and set up my camera from my balcony. And once I set it up and put my lee super stoppers they were barely moving. The did it on purpose haha. Anyways. This is 8 minute exposure. Those super stoppers give you the opportunity to shoot in mid day and get fantastic results. Specially with water and whatnot

PN Los Alcornocales - Andalucía

Planned for a hard core long exposure today, but found that I had left the remote controller back at home:(

After recommendation from Michael Walsh I have tried to crop out the landscape to give this pole scene a more minimalistic look.

Rapeseed in full bloom against a blue and cloudy sky.

A typical lake district afternoon. Breezy with the occasional shower. Ideal candidate for the Lee Big Stopper 10 stop ND filter. This filter increased the exposure time to 30 seconds and blurred the choppy water of Ullswater.

Kirkjufell mountain in Iceland sat beautifully under the aurora borealis

The stopper to my Tres Mujeres bottle of Tequila rests perfectly on the bottom of an overturned paper cup with its bottom cut out. I placing some fairy lights within the cup to light the stopper from below. The cup sits on a CD that is rimmed with the rest of the fairy light string, causing the colored shafts of light on the CD and side of the cup.

Here's one more Vertorama from the archives... taken in September last year... in one of the abandoned houses in Kolmanskop, Namibia.

Nikon D300, Sigma 10-20 at 10mm, aperture of f10, and a 1/125th second exposure.

Click here to check out my Vertorama tutorial.

The Glass Stopper in my decanter on our windowsill.

It's been a while since I posted on Flickr which is mainly due to poor weather conditions recently on the South Coast of the UK but last week I managed to get out with the camera and paid a visit to my local beach at Hayling Island.
