The heart of the European district and of the political center of Belgium were occupied by thousands of protesters against the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership and the other free trade agreements that give multinationals power over governments and place profit over people & planet.
I got stopped by an opening at the Gilmerton Bridge on the way home so I took this photo of the approach on the east side of the new bridge. The road deck is complete up to the two spans adjacent to the draw tower.

On Wednesday, March 25, 2020 the City of Greenville announced new measures to help slow the transmission of COVID-19 in our community with the "Stop the Spread" Order. The order places certain limitations on private and commercial activities in Greenville beginning Thursday, March 26, 2020 at 5:00 PM. Stop B at the Spectrum did have a fancy green park and ride display (matching Arriva's 3731 when it was painted light green), but in recent years it had faded to oblivion, so we now have this.

We stopped on this beach for lunch but it got a little messy as we got a very heavy shower of rain over us just after getting the otherwise tasty lunch.
For the sixth year Stop CSG Illawarra had a stall at Spring Into Corrimal. This year it was the Nannas and their roadies that looked after the stall.

Women gathered to protest against the current spate of incidents of violence against women and children in Sri Lanka. The protest was organised by Women for Women. The protest was held at Lipton Circus on 20th July 2012. Women demanded the authorities to take immediate action and bring the perpetrators to justice, rather than making inappropriate comments!

Our first stop in our five day cruise from Tampa was to Key West, a city I have never been. We took a trolley tour in Key West and we stopped at the Key West Lighthouse (which is across from the Ernest Hemingway House). The Lighthouse & Keeper's Quarters are located at 938 Whitehead Street, Key West, Florida 33040. I was able to climb this beautiful 1848 tower and take pictures of the top, including the Empress of the Seas and Enchantment of the Seas in port. This museum is part of the Key West Art & Historical Society. Even saw some roosters! Taken on a beautiful day in Key West (day two of our cruise) - Thursday October 12th, 2017.

The main bus stop in Davis Square. It's a very useful bus stop and it has a bench, trash barrel, newspapers, and an actual sign listing all the buses that stop there. But it's perennially filthy and it needs more benches and a map showing the routes of those buses, bus schedules, maybe even an enclosure to protect people from rain and snow.
And the world really doesn't need another Dunkin Donuts. No offense to the folks who run this one, they're very nice. But Dunkin Donuts's doughnuts just aren't any good. And their bagels are awful. Their coffee is OK and better priced than many places. But in Davis there are a lot of other options for coffee. But you can't walk a half-mile in any direction without running into another Dunkin Donuts.
The filthiness of this bus stop is a particular peeve of Globetrodden.
One of the stops that I was most excited about on our week-long Eastern Caribbean Cruise to San Juan, Puerto Rico, St. Maarten, and St. Kitts on the Celebrity Equinox (February 17-24, 2018), was St. Maarten. The island, that was hit very badly during hurricane season last year, especially Irma (more pictures later) and this was only the second time since that storm that the Equinox has arrived at the port of Philipsburg, St. Maarten. You can see the damage on some of the buildings near the beach. One of the experiences I wanted to capture was plane watching on Maho Beach as planes approached Princess Juliana Airport (SXM). The beach is very narrow after the storm and with extensive damage to the airport, fewer flights are coming in. While we saw many small planes, we did see a JetBlue A320 which was kinda cool. The Delta flight supposedly arriving at 12:05 never made it or was delayed. Wish we saw more - but when bird watching or plane watching - you see what you see. Still the Maho Airplane Experience was a great excursion and I am glad I went.
