This is a still-life setup in class that we started over a week ago. In between, we took a break to work on ink wash, and then picked this up again this week.
We had a couple of class sessions to work on it, but I still had to finish it at home. It was hard to get back into the mindset to know what I was thinking after putting this down for a week. As you can see towards the end, it was a bit rushed to get it done.

The initial release of Skram’s Drop Stool Series is a loose grouping of four pieces, bound by function and material. The Drop Stools are an exploration of volume and elemental geometry.
These stools are outside of the cafeteria. This is the first time I've worked in a building with a "real" cafeteria in it (I worked in a building for a few years that had a deli-type cafeteria with a few deli sandwiches, chips, etc). There's a great salad bar, 2 daily soups, 1 daily hot entree (which you can order packaged for take-home dinners, too), and 1 daily grill special. On top of that, there's deli sandwiches, desserts, pizza, hot dogs, hamburgers, cheeseburgers, etc.
My choices are pretty much limited to the salad bar, the veggie burger and a grilled cheese sandwich, but the ladies working there are usually nice and let me know as soon as they see me walk in if there's any specials that day that are meat-free (I pack my lunch 2-3 times a week, and buy the other days because it's so cheap! I can get a full lunch for $3!)
Anyway, these are the stools in the seating area, there's also a number of tables of all different sizes. Whether I bring or buy, Andrew and I always go down here to sit and eat and get away from our desks.

Pigeon shooting stool made from survey tri-pod. I cut down the legs by about 250mm so it is just right for a six footer ( me) but will extend to suit any uneven ground. the top spins 360 degrees on a lazy susan bearing and the seat is now padded. Shoulder strap clips around the legs and make it easy to carry.
