The title is not very nice. When I was looking at this peek-a-boo bird out of a tree hole yesterday, a lady passed by and told me a story.
This rainbow lorikeet "stole" cockatoo's tree hole. One day a cockatoo was making a big hole in the tree so super hard. Sometime later the lady saw a couple of lorikeets in the hole. Around the tree were a lot of cockatoos, shouting and screeching at lorikeets frantically. But the lorikeets didn't care at all... snigger^^;
*Colours are a bit odd. It's a sunset light.

This week´s business trip took me to the Nedtherlands into the Province Zuid Holland. I used my lunch-break to visit the famous windmills of Kinderdijk. When I saw pictures of some Co-Flickr members I was deeply impressed and so was I when I entered the place. Unfortunately the weather was a nightmare : Cold, dull and misty. I tried to make the best of it and decided to come back in Spring. This must be a perfect place for romantic sunsets...

I want you by my side
So that I never feel alone again
They’ve always been so kind
But now they’ve brought you away from here
I hope they didn’t get your mind
Your heart is too strong anyway
We need to fetch back the time
They have stolen from us
And I want you
We can bring it on the floor
You’ve never danced like this before
We don’t talk about it
Dancin' on do the boogie all night long
Stoned in paradise, shouldn’t talk about it...
one of the images from my exhibit at Itakos Gallery
It will be up for while so do visit if you can.
"Even so, sometimes there were mornings, still folded between waking and dreaming, when Megan would bolt up in bed and exclaim ecstatically “How they danced, how they danced!!"

From it's most earliest days in the early 1900's to it's sad end in the mid 1950's Packard maintained a signature design element on their grill surrounds. Starting lower on the sides the grill surrounds would bump up and raise in the center, and you will find versions of this on every model of every Packard for every year of Packard's existence. When I first came upon the Reo in the photo the first thing I noticed was the Packard like grill surround, and thinking, in fact, that it was indeed a Packard. Well, that was only true until I noticed the emblem in the center with the letters R E O emblazoned on it. Like Packard in their day, Reo was considered somewhat of a luxury automobile, and as such, they were priced accordingly. I suspect, however, that they didn't have the same panache that Packard enjoyed. So, was the Packard like grill surround on this 1930 Reo a design coincidence, or could you say that "imitation is the sincerest form of flattery?" REO, the company, was founded by the former founder and owner of the Oldsmobile company, Ransom E. Olds (Notice the first letters in his name REO.) The company started in Lansing, Michigan, and had a long and somewhat successful history producing cars and trucks from 1905 to 1975. In 1936, Reo stopped producing cars in favor of devoting it's time to the end in 1975 to producing trucks.
Vince M
Although truck orders during World War II enabled it to revive somewhat, the company remained unstable in the postwar era, resulting in a bankruptcy reorganization. In 1954, the company was still underperforming, and sold its vehicle manufacturing operations (the primary asset of the company) to the Bohn Aluminum and Brass Corporation of Detroit. Three years later, in 1957, Reo's vehicle manufacturing operation became a subsidiary of the White Motor Company. White then merged REO with Diamond T Trucks in 1967 to form Diamond Reo Trucks. In 1975, this company filed for bankruptcy and most of its assets were liquidated. Volvo later took over White and thus currently owns the rights to the REO brand name.

A photo from my archives that brought back memories of my walks in the forest, something that I miss a lot. (Sorry for the long story and thank you if you have the time.) (HSS)
The trail felt like a serene thought winding through the forest, the damp, soft earth yielding beneath each step. It was mid-afternoon, but the clouds had already stolen some of the light, tinting everything a muted gray. The storm would come, but not yet; there was still a little light left in the sky. To think that just an hour earlier the day had been sunny.
I carried my walking stick/tripod, which I had made several years ago (see photo below) and to which now I had attached a tracker because of the number of times I had lost it. I listened to the soft sound of my shoes on the earth, the occasional crunch of a twig. A squirrel scurried across the path, disappearing into the shadows, and somewhere deeper in the forest, a woodpecker tapped out its solitary code on a tree.
For now, only this existed: the peaceful company of the trees and walking without purpose or reason.

A sneaky ten minutes with the camera on my camera free holiday to beautiful Cornwall. Surfs up Dudes :)
Sunrise over Palm Beach on a day I would normally have been at work.
A last minute opportunity to take a days leave, a willing photography buddy and hey presto!
Sometimes the stolen moments are the sweetest!
It is possible to go inside, but it is not easy to do. Because the steps leading to the front door were torn off. In addition, it is quite clear that everything that can be taken from this house has been stolen.
Most of my photos are stolen moments of time. They are shots around the farm or shots as I drive to or from work and a scene compels me to veer down a dirt road. A sudden breach of light through trees or clouds that turns the ordinary into the extraordinary. I’ve come to treasure these moments, urging the light to hold still long enough for me to grab the camera. Every now and then I get lucky, more often I'm slow to find the shutter.
I know I’m not telling you anything you don’t already know. You're all well-versed in the Speed of Light…
