We had sole twice in the past month, once as a side dish with Seafood pasta, and once in a Oriental stirfry with prawns, bell peppers, mushrooms and egg noodles. I like the skellies of soles,so i captured this one for use in artworks.

My dinner. Nice stir fry with brown and red rice, leeks, white cabbage, cauliflower, grains and seeds, tomatoes, almonds and linseed. Yummy

For 'Looking Close on Friday', theme: savoury food.

After having given Sonja a Chinese stirfry in celebration of her birthday, I was rather finished from running around. My very good friend saw at the end of the evening that I was rather tired, and the next morning stopped in with my favourite flowers!!!

Hope you all have a wonderful Wednesday!!

Another from Vin's kitchen! Easy, and good folks, and if you don't like string beans it can just as well be made with broccoli or asparagus. I think if you make it once, you'll make it again, it's good! Now, I wing things folks and do not measure anything, so the quantities listed above are best guesses, more or less of anything therefore is possible, and maybe even likely, your best judgement may be needed. BTW, that sauce happens to be real good on steamed salmon fillets :)

Don't know why we haven't cooked Chinese in awhile!

So healthy, delicious and FUN . . .

Dinner last night. Basically a throw-together dish of a gratuitous amount of random vegetables and garlic, dressed in a light sauce of tamari, rice vinegar, sugar and pepper flakes.

These are the amounts I used (for one serving... I'm a pig :-) ):

•Pinch red pepper flakes

•1/2 tbsp soy sauce

•1/2 tbsp rice wine vinegar

•1 tsp brown sugar substitute

•1/4 white onion, diced

•2 cloves garlic, minced

•1 medium carrot, julienned

•4 oz shiitake mushrooms, sliced

•2 oz snowpeas, halved

•6 oz parboiled cauliflower florets

•1/2 medium zucchini, julienned

•3 oz beansprouts

•8 oz baby bok choy, halved

for me, healthy eating during winter for me usually involves a soup or stir fry. i don't have a particularly adventurous palate.

Some fresh rosemary I'm cooking in some stir fry veggies.

Macro Mondays ~ In a row

Prawn and bean shoots (with chopsticks and sauce dip)

Home cooked meal; best enjoyed with loved ones. :)

This is pretty standard fare of what I have for dinner most nights at home.

We were coming back from .. somewhere and we had a 20 minute wait a train station and i was hungry as hell. Most train stations have these cubical sized stores on the platforms that sell magazines, food and drink. So im hungry as hell and i picked up this little gem.. which can only be describe as a noodle mayonese with ginger hotdog

Green pepper, broccoli, Chinese cabbage, and — of all crazy things — Tofurkey 'ham'

Stirfried in peanut oil, first the broccoli stems, then some celery and green pepper, then a diced tomato, then the broccoli flowerets, then some mushrooms, and finally the Chinese cabbage, all sliced or diced into bite sized pieces, then the 'ham' sliced into long bits.

Add a bit of water and steam things once you throw in the tomato, and finish off with a sauce of juice of a lemon, Maggi, soy sauce, fish sauce, some Chinee cooking wine, a bit of MSG if you like that kind of thing, and a forkfull of cornstarch mixed in well.

Serve with some Conimex sambal oelek on the side...

Fried fake chicken, red cabbage, Chinese cabbage, mushrooms, broccoli, over rice garnished with green onion

Chicken, bacon , red capsicum, sweetcorn, mushrooms , Sesame Seeds and Black Pepper. Served with chips and peas. It was very tasty.

Trying out new recipes. This is some snap peas that were then introduced to ginger, garlic and skirt steak. Then put on top of some sticky rice. www.seriouseats.com/amp/recipes/2014/07/stir-fried-beef-s...

I love this with a little sour cream.

For Macro Mondays theme "(Begins With) The First Letter of My Name", which would be an S. So I have here Shrimp Stir-fy (do I get double points?). Also for 2016: one photo each day (254/366)

Salmon in honey soy and ginger, with spring onion and chilli, in a vegetable stir fry and Pad Thai noodles

the tour of my kitchen continues

onions, orange pepper, spring onions, fresh green beans and courgettes

Yesterday's main meal - stir fried chicken and veggies in sweet chili sauce with egg fried rice. My wife cooked the chicken and I did the rice, which explains the slightly burnt pea! Uploaded for Macro Mondays Main Meal theme.

In order of appearance in the wok:

Broccoli stalks

Celery

Garlic & ginger

Green bell pepper

Tomato

Broccoli flowerets

Mushrooms

Chinese cabbage

and, not shown,

Pan seared Tofurkey 'chicken' bits

Sauce, at the last minute: lemon juice, soy sauce, Maggi sauce, Chinese cooking wine, MSG, with a forkful of cornstarch mixed in

Topped with sliced green onions at table

I enjoyed this theme, and getting to take photos of this miniature food.

AKA Eyes bigger than my belly. Got a bit carried away when prepping. The only seasoning was a bit of salt and lots of Black Pepper. Mick ate my leftovers as well as all his own dinner.

It was delicious.
