Happy weekend all dear friends.
Better in large..:)
I´m not sure about the ID on butterfly, but perhaps Common blue.

Oh but she loves
Like sleep to the freezing
Sweet and right and merciful
I'm all but washed
In the tide of her breathing.

(Falling in fields - 2)
“When I find a ladybird, I ask the butler to take it outside, instead of killing it.” - Winston Churchill.
Such nasty things but what shapes in the light! I remember falling in a big patch as a boy and regretting it to say the least. The old remedy of running a dock leaf on a sting works a treat.
This is something I would never even normally look at but Macro Mondays challenged my mind to find something beautiful in something that is not as a whole and will sting you when you take a closer look lol.
Winter is a great, unbeatable artist- perfect created by nature. Modeled by the winter's breathe.
Gula Gula by Jan Garbarek
“I am not perfect, nor do I profess to be. I am human. I make mistakes. I learn from them. I move on with my heart on my sleeve and hope in my heart and then I found the one who helps me breathe again.” - AP

SIMPLE PLEASURES - JAKE BUGG
Softly spoken
gentle, muted colours
small and often overlooked
this little common herb
is delicate and fragile
is often found
and pressed within a book
delightful is it's presence
a surprise found in the grass
blush pink and heart-shaped petals
bring such joy to hand
it seeds itself
and blows on winds
that carry it away
to grow again
wherever it may land
nature is a wondrous thing
it heals; brings happy thoughts
and dreams that take us far away
in woven webs are caught
look upon this humble flower
savour this kind moment
for it is like a starlit shower
of asteroids; do not lament
it's passing by does not last long
but look again and see
appearances are here and there
dotted prettily
in hedgerows low beneath the shadows
of great trees that stand tall
you'll find these miracles of life
even though they are so small
yet they are many
and that is good
to know life is so plentiful
take a minute of your walk
to spend in it's pleasant company
they do not disappoint or have
unreal expectations
they are themselves
they are complete
they have no hesitation
natural beauty may not last
but inside is what counts
that pure light; that heavenly zeal
these flowers have
in bounteous appeal
look once; look twice
and look again
the language of these flowers
whispers soft like rain
and tells to us
all we need to know
let all unfold
let spirits grow
a sense of well-being
an effortless charm
that lights up our lives
and does no harm
enchanting; magical
all this and more
can be yours and mine
forever more.

Back to minimalism. Walking with the dogs, catching unimpressive things along the way.
Actually, only a nettle.
Brennesselblüte im Bokeh (Portrait)
Please zoom in, the tiny details are exceedingly attractive, not to mention the Bokeh!
Bitte vergrößert betrachten, die winzigen Details sind außerordentlich attraktiv, ganz zu schweigen vom Bokeh!

repost, I truely love this capture...!
on a stinging nettle
I don't know what that was ... I was bothered by a leaf of the stinging nettle that prevented my clear view of the motif. I removed it with three fingers. The fingertips are still burning after almost 5 hours as if I had needles stuck in them ...
Stinging nettle, (Urtica dioica). walking in the fields early in the morning, I spotted these new nettle plants with delicately frosted leaves. It reminds me that we can find beauty, even in the painful times we are all going through at the moment.
Our Butterfly doesn't migrate for the Winter but rather hibernates in woodpiles and such. In today's bright weather its family is fluttering out in full force. I didn't yet see any of its caterpillars on their favorite plants, the stinging nettle (Urtica). No doubt they'll soon be there. Here Tortoiseshell is sucking nectar on Common Dogwood, Cornus sanguineum.

It`s funny what catches your eye to photograph. We all try to avoid this plant / weed stinger all the time, this is the flower of the "Stinging Nettle " you know the the leaf that stings and irritates for hours if it touches you. It`s Called " White Dead Nettle ".
I had to bend in all sorts of shapes in order to avoid contact and hold the camera in one hand in the general direction of the white flower which lies not at the top but in the middle of the stem , Hope you like it because risked life and an aching back to shoot this lol. Hope everyone is having a nice Easter in the Sunshine but freezing wind.
Slipping down the Sea Dike that keeps the water of the Gouwzee out of the polders of Waterland, North Holland, I found myself smartingly in a patch of Urtica dioica, Stinging Nettle. No, it hadn't been a good idea trying to get a better look at the golden Yellow Flags, Iris pseudacorus, at water's edge. Moreover, they were quite faded close by.
But looking down at my sandals in the shade of those Nettles I saw these pretty Forget-me-nots, Myosotis ramossisima. Many-branched indeed, as the first namegiver Anton Rochel (1770-1847) specifically noted. Another distinctive feature is their hairiness, as was determined by Diederich Franz Leonhard von Schlechtendal (1794-1866) by his 'hispida' for Myosotis. The names are synonymous though Rochel's is preferred.
So pretty they are that I was gladly stung...
This tortoiseshell was warming it's wings among a bush of stinging nettles on the heath. I just managed to zoom in and get a shot, when I cropped it later he seemed to be looking over a huge canyon or something, well to him maybe it was! Everything is relative..

Happy Sunday
HSS!
Just a macro of some nettles on the dog walk. I love the extra detail in the younger leaves.

This is another shot which I took on my recent sunset photo walk. Currently, I'm a bit uninspired, but still I try to get my gear out and look for compositions. I'm not entirely happy with this image, but still I like the bokeh and the beautiful stripe of light which was illuminating this stinging nettle. I hope you like it too!
Watching these sea nettles (jellyfish) swim was actually quite mesmerizing. They seem as if they are in suspended animation when floating in the water column and are otherworldly in their appearance. It was a bit easier getting detailed shots on these as the aquarium was much smaller and the glass not nearly as thick as the main aquarium.
Enjoy the rest of the weekend!
