This is a magical "Happy Furry Friday" for the whole "Wildbunch" family...!
Alex had an appointment to see Dr Roos today for his check up.
And we figured it could be time for another series of chemo, because they said it would be a treatment in series.
We where flabbergasted when Arno (Dr Roos) said he was doing very well.
And his next checkup will be over three month......!!!
Wait.... that is not all..! His next checkup will also be the last time..!
Because then we reached the milestone of one year without growth of any tumors..! We still need to keep an eye on him because it is in remision...
As I write this the tears are dripping down my face of joy!
The decision we took by helping him with this therapy was the best ever, if we hadn't... I don't think we would still have him in our family. I am so happy to tell you this wonderful news.
Our beloved boy isn't going anywhere, he needs to stay around to lead his bunch...!
At least that is what we hope for....
We thank you all for your always sincere concern for him and we must say it helped us
to stay strong.
Alex is so worth fighting for and we will do our best to give him the most happy Dachshund life he could wish for...
Thank you all Friends!

This old boy is Dexter; 18 months ago the vets said he would have a couple of months to live (he has some cancerous tumours the size of tennis balls on his back legs), but he's still going strong - can't wait to go out for his walks every day, just as he was as a puppy.
Dexter's owner was a good friend of mine, who sadly passed away from cancer himself just before xmas. His children asked if I'd come out and get a picture of their dog, as they'd like to remember him as he still is - it was a bit of a challenge as despite his age and condition, he doesn't keep still for more than a couple of seconds!
RAF Battle Of Britain Memorial Flight Lancaster PA474 painted as WS-J of 9 Squadron with the motto 'Still Going Strong' and 'Johnny Walker' noseart at Biggin Hill (an operational Fighter Command airfield in World War II) in May 1998. The white tail fins denotes the aircraft's role as a pathfinder leader.
A love story in 3 parts...
Whilst having a little tidy in the shedio I came across 3 stencils from many years ago that I think I must have kept for sentimental reasons. Finding them again reminded me of how I used a cunning touch of graffiti to bag myself a girlfriend.
The 3 stencils were painted on the pavement in a midnight mission on a route I knew she took to work in the sequence 'Morning Sparkle' - 'Nice holiday?' - 'Fancy one more date?' as the target of my intentions was just back from holiday and would hopefully see them the following morning then think how awfully romantic I was and would then be powerless in the face of my request for another date.
Unfortunately she wasn't as observant as I would have hoped and didn't even notice a single one of them. Thankfully they were eventually pointed out a day or two later by the eagle eyed boyfriend of her flatmate and she agreed to that one more date. I probably owe him a pint for that. Whilst the original paint has long since faded we're still going strong nearly 15 years later. Anyway, there you have it.
Cheers

The 105mm f4.0 Macro Nikkor. Great lens. a bit big and bulky. This particular F has had some serious use over the years. Still works fine - I found it at a swap meet some years ago for $125 with the F36 motor - but no battery pack and grip. fellow Flickr user Phil send me one that he had rebuilt. Flickr is a great community for those of us with camera addiction!

84 yrs young and as bright as a button. Used to work at the Fleet Air Arm based in Belfast. Didn't know that they had a base though it makes sense when you think about it what with us being a port n all!

This is a fantastic piece of bar memorabilia, made by Wade Pottery (Regicor) in England for Johny Walker. It bears the Johny Walker logo "Born 1820 - Still Going Strong" on both sides. The jug itself is beautiful condition with no major chips, cracks or blemishes, even the ice rim on the spout is chip free which is unusual in these pieces.
This pitcher is #784 and the mark on the base is #44. This pitcher was manufactured between 1962-1968. It stands 5 inches tall by 6 inches wide (spout to handle) and 4.5 inches wide.

YUM! Tonight I was quite enamored of our dinner, and frequently thanked myself aloud for it. (Heh. I must be such a pain to live with.) This was little adorable ossabaw pork chops with a chipotle cherry pan sauce, roasted carrots and beets, and mashed potatoes. With our last bottle of what we thought of as our house "meat" wine (time to pick a new one to get a case of), this was a wintry plate of perfection.
