While tromping around my uncle's barns, I came across these, casually hung on the wall. I knew something about them caught my eye, but it wasn't until I got them off my camera and onto my computer that I realized -- oh --wow -- it's a family! And I never touched or rearranged the hoses, this is just how I found them. I can't draw, so now I have stick-figure photography, which seems very appropriate for me.

Apart from the fact that this German restaurant is in, out of all places, New Britain, the poster is funny for a couple of other reasons too - New Britain, CT is not known for its German-American roots but for its sizable Latino and Polish communities (the President of Poland visited New Britain last year - see www.wtnh.com/news/connecticut/president-of-poland-to-visi...).
Also, the chant "ticky tocky ticky tocky hoy! hoy! hoy!" is a rather "creative" rendering of the original "Zicke zacke zicke zacke hoi hoi hoi" - see de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zicke_zacke_zicke_zacke_hoi_hoi_hoi
Good thing I keep my camera on my lap when my husband is driving - we spotted this bumper sticker on a car in front of us!

I was sort of swamped at work. I did try to get a friend at work to jump for me, then he tried to get a shot of me jumping. Neither worked.
We were about to try another location but then we got interrupted.
About an hour later, this is what I settled for.

Post-processing: Auto levels gave it this color. The stickies are yellow, but this helps it stand out more. Meh.
I'm sure it would take cruder words to really get the hits, but you get the picture

ok andy ~ I added the tag sexy to my cartoon to see if it gets any unusual hits. What made me think of this cartoon was the fact that an earlier cartoon in which I wrote something like "the best way to weight is naked, barefoot, and before breakfast" is getting about a third of its hits from the word naked.
There is a fun Flickr group called Stick Figures In Peril. When I saw this sign, I knew I had to join it. This is in Garden City, Utah. HSS
Cooking can be messy sometimes. After I spilled some pancake batter, I noticed it splattered into human-like shape. I had to grab the nearest camera before it dried up.

Inspired by pioneering photographers of the nineteenth century, KEYFRAMES brings the technique of chronophotography to life with the help of new technological tools. Lights, sculpture, sound elements and 3D simulated kinetic animations are used to offer a paradoxical vision between discontinuity and the illusion of movement. Taking inspiration from the places and times they are in, the bodies and their precise movements create micro-stories and will propose choreographies to their Melbourne audience.
