Dr. Wendy B. Libby was greeted by applause, balloons and a welcome banner as she arrived at her office in historic DeLand Hall to officially begin her first day as president of Stetson University.
“This is a place where people care – that was the bottom line for me,” Libby said. The new president said she plans to “learn and listen” at the beginning of her presidency to get to know the culture of Stetson and its employees, students, alumni and other supporters. She has set up a series of planning meetings with administrative staff and faculty members this summer.
In Boone, we stopped at Jimmy's Barbeque Pit for some amazing ribs. Great place. The lemonade had lemons and there was bluegrass on the radio. Vivian, who hates hats, fell in love with this one.
I believe this hat originally came from my uncle (he died before I was born), but I'm not sure. It's way too big for my dad, and he doesn't know where it came from. I wear it whenever I can justify it, which is almost never. It appears to be beaver fur felt.
If anyone knows about reforming the crown on felt hats like this one, I'm all ears - it's a little misshapen. (It should probably also be cleaned...)

Greg was trying to make a big cool sign for the girls common room...It says "Delta Force", but I think of it as "Delta Farce", cos believe me- putting it together and then putting it up was such a drama...and then it didn't even fit...and it was lopsided...and we all got masking tape all over us....agh! And yes, Orlando Bloom lives in our common room..
