I purchased this photograph on March 30, 2012 from a consignment antique shop in Essex, Vermont. The children are identified on the back as Ralph Howard Stetson, and Alice Marion Stetson. Since the back is also printed as a divided-back post card the image dates to after 1907. I have no photo studio clues or geographic reference, but after checking the census records, I believe these are the children of Clarence Earl Stetson and his wife, Gladys Manley Stetson of Berkshire, Vermont. I found likely candidates in the 1920 Franklin County, Berkshire, Vermont census. Clarence E. Stetson, age 37, dairy farmer, was listed with his wife, Grace M., age 39, and children, Roland M., age 19, Clifton T., age 16 Ethel S., age 13, Hollis C., age 11, Earl E., age 9, Ralph H., age 7, and Alice M., age 4 years, 8 months. Since the census was dated mid-January, this dates the photograph to September of 1915. See census Series: T625 Roll: 1872 Page: 34

I am seeking descendants.

Built in 1884, Deland Hall is on the historic Stetson University campus in Deland FL. This was the first building constructed on campus and is one of the best examples of Second Empire architecture in Florida. The tower here has a Mansard roof with cresting and four gable dormers with louvers. The exterior fabric is wood clapboard with patterned wood shingles as a belt course. The building was designed by John Mace, who later designed Stetson Hall and the Volusia County Courthouse.
