"If you want to take a step forward,

you have to lose your balance for a moment."

devi perdere l'equilibrio per un attimo"

Good Week To All :)

There is a moment.

Quiet, brief, yet heavy.

The body stands at the edge, but the mind lingers.

A pause, where the heart grips the comfort of what is known, unwilling to let go.

Behind is the land, the safety of what has always been.

Ahead lies the unknown, vast, cold, calling.

The frozen lake stretches like an unanswered question.

To take that first step is not only to move the body but to confront the weight of leaving behind the familiar.

It is the final breath before the leap.

It is the ache of knowing that once you cross, there is no turning back.

And still, the feet remain planted for one more second.

Just take the step forward...

Step Forward is a young girl who dreams of a better world in which everybody loves each other. One day she wakes up in an unknown place where she doesn’t really know if she is awake or in a wonderful dream. She watches in amusement all that takes place around her at the time she gets involved in Burning Man’s experience.

This was the first photograph I took at the Marquee Club at an early punk gig in 1977. Chelsea were a punk band fronted by singer Gene October, and at the time of this gig they had released a single, ‘Right to Work’, on Mark P’s Step Forward label.

Step Forward transmits the principles of consciousness and neighborly love, increased through Art.
