A pair of Stealthsuits aid their Tau Battlesuit brethren. Each Stealthsuit is equipped with Burst Cannon, Targeting Array, and Jetpack.
Both Shas'O Kais and Shas'O Or'es'ka were taken from DoW, not from the tabletop game. These models are based on my Shadowsun Stealthsuit with several important differences and some small changes. Both hardsuits had jetpacks, so I decided to experiment a little with dynamic posing and built that "flying base" for Or'es'ka. One day I hope to make a depiction of my Tau cadre in its whole, so I continue to make those bases the same way I did before. They get a tad bit repetitive, but I quite like the way these models look with bases.
As for the Shas'El Myamoto, there is a miniature of him. I did what I could with customizing a Fire Warrior frame and I'm really pleased with the result!
The only survivor of his Stealth Team, back in the days when he was still shas'vre, he was offered to be the first Tau to test the latest XV22 modification. Even though he was promoted to shas'o rank and had a whole Hunter Cadre at his disposal, he chose to be an army of one to use his stealth skills to the max. He soon became an infamous tank destroyer, he was said to kill several Ork Stompas and even a Titan, all on his own. He earned his name in blood and fire and this name suits him perfectly. He is Commander Firebreath.
Each arm of his up-armored battlesuit is a twin-linked fusion blaster capable of melting through the thickest ceramite plates, but such a powerful weapon needed an enhanced energy feed too big and heavy for a stealthsuit of this size. A simple solution was found: a wireless energy supply from Recharger-drones. Main power cells of this batllesuit have a bit higher capacity compared to that of older XV22 models' batteries, but they only last a couple of hours when the main weapon systems are at maximum rates of fire. Recharger-drone specifically designed to work with this battlesuit carry extremely dangerous energy cores close to Nova-reactors, not only they can power or sometimes overcharge XV22-2's weapons, but also they can serve as a deadly radiation emitter, a lightning bolts generator or even a bomb. Rumor has it, that the energy source of this drone is a reverse-engineered technology acquired from mysterious robot-like ancient creatures Tau know little about.
This is somewhat based on WH40:DoW Tau commander, and Kais himself is yet to be revealed. As a Lego model, this is a reworked Shadowsun's Stealthsuit.
Still have a ton of these unofficial Tau units built, no wonder they keep popping up in my photostream once in awhile.
These are meant to be experimental models for use in woodlands and jungles. Small and agile, these suits are equipped with unconventional weapons suitable for such tough conditions. What's so unconventional? These are all melee weapons! That's almost unheard of for a Tau battlesuit to be equipped only with melee weapons. That's why XV12 pilots are are said to be the craziest ones, even more crazy than those from Pathfinders or Stealthsuit Teams. Using mainly guerilla tactics, hiding in plain sight, they hunt their prey, silent and deadly.
Drones are quite helpful for such teams as a fire support from a distance. Those you see here are modifications of existing Sniper Drone and Missile Drone, they are much more manoeuvrable and can better hold steady position in the air while targeting or shooting.
Decided to just have some fun with Cap the other day. These guys are really quite articulated, and LEGO was used in one of the pictures.
Also wanted to get some fun stuff in before my summer job starts.

The first layer of goodies unfolded :)
Next were the back-drops, they turned out to be too big to put on the shelf, after putting those together, they went back in the box.

The Broadside has magnetic attachments for the shoulder gear, and the head and other bits are somewhere! I just couldn't find them for the pics.
The stealth suits are all in one piece though.

Well, I posted these pics of my WIP Crisis Commander for my Tau army a while back on Tauonline, but I've never really posted any of my 40k stuff on Flickr. I decided it was time to change that. Anyway, the conversions I've performed on this guy include a Tael style head, modified jetpacks, completely reworked arms, tons of extra armor (mostly from spare stealthsuit parts), and a custom base. Anyway, I just wanted to see what you guys thought of it so far.
