Whisper, feral, she has created many social interaction rules. She watches everything and is very smart. She gets to set the boundaries and be herself.
Day 21 — Stay Home, Stay Healthy!
We’re three weeks now into the new physical distancing here. I’m fortunate that there are still a few wild places I can get to on my bike and was able to capture this great blue heron gliding in for a quiet landing.
I am booked to go to Skomer Island tomorrow to see puffins - this shot was taken the last time I managed to get there 5 years ago!! I will catch up with everyone next week and hopefully will post some new puffin shots!
Black-crowned night heron sneaking up on his fishy breakfast. Wildwood Park, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
saw it around sunset. tried to get away but i spotted it just before it headed towards downtown. i've only heard about these stealthy dragon flies. apparently, they hang around the bars and dive bomb smokers standing under the lights outside.
Spotted from my upstairs window after which I dashed down the stairs as quick as I could and grabbed my camera and flew out the back door. Lucky not to miss!

Coyote in full camo gear.
It can be tricky to differentiate between wolves and coyotes in the wild. Coyotes are a bit smaller, with larger ears and long bushy tails.
It was good to be able to revisit one of our local owls following our return from Scotland.
The chicks appear to have fledged as this owl (I believe the female) ate her prey where she caught it before returning back to the barn. The light sadly faded before she treated us to a 30 minute flying display.

Many thanks to all those who take the time to comment on my photos. It is truly appreciated.
A male Northern Harrier cruising across the grasslands in Stealth Bomber mode. The shape and form of this bird in this shot is so eerily similar to the US Stealth Bomber aircraft, that you can only wonder if the designers of that plane looked to the natural world for efficient designs. Best viewed large for detailed image of the Grey Ghost.
Thanks for stopping by~!
