RIP New York LEGO Lair 2020-2023
The best shot ever taken of our basement LEGO lair is also the last one I’ll probably ever post of it, since it’s from our real estate listing. Yep, we’re moving again!
I’ve accepted a job offer to replace the outgoing LEGO Model Shop Manager at LEGOLAND Florida!
This is a completely unexpected opportunity for my family and I; we certainly didn’t plan to leave LEGOLAND New York so soon, much less BACK to Florida, but it’s a genuinely unique career development I couldn’t pass up. It comes with a very bittersweet cost of leaving yet another amazing model shop team of Master Builders and friends.
As you can imagine our lives have been effectively turned upside down for the last month. We’ve already accepted an offer on our NY home and are under contract for a home in Florida with the goal of being in place for our four kids to start the fall semester on time in Mid August.

I wanted to do a tribute shot to this wonderful flickr friend from across the pond, especially this shot folding - by faygate
The brothers gather at the mossy house to reminisce about their childhoods.
They had been separated because of their distinct looks.
Somehow they had migrated back to this area at the same time.
Yeti asked his younger brothers if they recalled their older half brother who had been shunned while they were very young for being WAY different.
Big Foot and Squatch had very vague memories of this happening.
Yeti explained: I think I recall his name was something like...um,
Chewy??

Following the havoc caused here in Cornwall from storm Callum where our beaches had been covered in debris, I thought let’s take a trip over to Dartmoor for the day and go down by the rivers and into the woods out of harms way from the storm and photograph say two or three bridges and the autumnal colours.
What could possibly go wrong.
So saddled up Hoof, got out Horace’s special little seat that fits on the back of my trusty steed, so if you can picture a rear gunner in a Lancaster bomber, that is the type of position that Horace adopts on these journeys.
Horace was so excited as this was his first visit onto the Moor since we have taken ownership of him, obviously Hoof had been out here many a time in his role of directing films like the ‘Hound Of The Baskervilles’.
So first stop was “New Bridge” and look what we were confronted with, it was very sad to see all these trees that had been uprooted this shows how powerful this storm had been to inflict damage in sheltered areas.
This is going to be the first in a series of shots from our expedition that day, what follows as we made our way to other locations is going to be truly unbelievable, stay tuned.

This is Peaches and he's (yes, he) 5 months old. We found out when he got his shots and made the appointment to get her/him spayed, that one lift of the tail proved... she's a boy. We kept the name because he's had it for 5 months and it makes for a good story. Kinda like A boy named Sue. A friend had been fosterng him for my boyfriend, Frank. Peaches made his trip to NY to his forever home. (I've been MIA). Two years ago, I got Frank a tortie rescue named Molly. She needed a buddy. How's that going..stay tuned. So far...Molly is not liking her new "brother" He's a patient and sweet little man. However, there's a "whole lotta hissing going on!"
Last month, for a few weeks at least, we had some real winter weather! As in BRRR! And so we put our several Goodie Bowls, including this picnic table. Don't tell our backyard visitors, but it's not really a bowl, but it does hold a lot of yummy treats!
However, since a neighbor's cat has recently shown up in our yard on multiple occasions, there will be no more Goodie Bowls until we feel the coast is clear. Back to tossing the treats in the back of the yard where everyone can forage, like before.
The Goodie Bowls are placed close to the house, and the area is surrounded by bushes and gardens. Perfect for taking photos, but also perfect for a cat to hide in and sneak up on unsuspecting prey. And this is why the Goodie Bowls are on vacation at the moment.

I'm not even close to being done with my blossom pictures. I'm slightly obsessed. Not with just blossom, but with spring in general. There's just so much to photograph. I've also been scouting out for even more cool spots to shoot over the next week (super long weekend coming up, oh yeah)! I'm definitely going to pay a visit to the local Botanical Gardens because 1. I haven't been in months and 2. Last spring, when I had just got my macro lens, I found the most amazing spring stuff to shoot there. Spring is awesome. Fact. :) And I do write too much sometimes, don't I? I should get a blog or something...
To end the 2014 Autumn Collection entitled The Fall, we have this photo. With the colour of the grasses slightly faded to give a more worn and rustic atmosphere and the changing of the trees' leaves in the background, this is one of our favourites from The Fall Collection. Again, the stonewall gives the photo depth especially here because you can see the wall in the distance. This is the perfect photo to round off this collection especially with the official Photography Lately logo which stands out so well on this photo. Thank you for viewing this collection. i met this guy in one of the rooms staring through this open window. i don't know who he is. maybe somekind of caretaker. =)
third pic of the special places i mentioned.
i took this during a tour with mace2000. we went to the hornisgrinde, the highest point of the northern black forest (1.164 m / 3.819 ft.). this was inside an old, abandoned and decayed house.
meanwhile we found out that these houses were used by the french army from 1945 to 1996.
it's a really great and creepy place!!

I got back last night from New York, and in the fading twilight, I smiled, realizing that I have so much to be thankful for, and that this trip to the city which so lovingly continues to embrace my art was just one of the most amazing Christmas presents I ever could have asked for.
I didn't take as many photos of New York city as I usually would have, but the ones that I will post are worth more than a 1000 words, and many more in smiles and memories - so please stay tuned!
I will be taking some time off to rest over the holidays, but wish you and your loved ones the best of health, happiness and love during this holiday season, and may 2008 bring you peace and good tidings. 2007 was a hell of a year for many of us, may the next 365 be the calm after the storm.
What at first glance may appear to be a scream of pure terror on our kitty Frodo's face is actually a yawn of pure boredom!
In preparation of our yearly Harvest Fest for our backyard visitors, we collect an assortment of pumpkins and gourds to decorate the arena which will be filled with all kinds of treats.
By now Frodo is used to it and really couldn't care less, except the collection of pumpkins has doubled since I took this photo, and reaching his box has become quite tricky.
Yeti near a rock bluff.
Yeti was trying to build a fire. Contrary to popular belief Yeti doesn't like the coldest environments, he'd rather stay a bit cuddly and warm.
