Graffiti (/ɡrəˈfiːti/; Italian: [ɡrafˈfiːti]; plural of graffito: "a graffito", but "these graffiti") are writing or drawings that have been scribbled, scratched, or painted illicitly on a wall or other surface, often in a public place. Graffiti range from simple written words to elaborate wall paintings, and they have existed since ancient times, with examples dating back to Ancient Egypt, Ancient Greece, and the Roman Empire.
In modern times, paint (particularly spray paint) and marker pens have become the most commonly used graffiti materials. In most countries, marking or painting property without the property owner's consent is considered defacement and vandalism, which is a punishable crime.
Graffiti may also express underlying social and political messages and a whole genre of artistic expression is based upon spray paint graffiti styles. Within hip hop culture, graffiti have evolved alongside hip hop music, b-boying, and other elements. Unrelated to hip-hop graffiti, gangs use their own form of graffiti to mark territory or to serve as an indicator of gang-related activities.
Controversies that surround graffiti continue to create disagreement amongst city officials, law enforcement, and writers who wish to display and appreciate work in public locations. There are many different types and styles of graffiti; it is a rapidly developing art form whose value is highly contested and reviled by many authorities while also subject to protection, sometimes within the same jurisdiction.

Dieses Portal halte ich am Neubau für das gelungenste Architekturdetail, da es wirklich sehr gut den Geschmack der Zeit und gleichzeitig ein Statment mit seinen Inschriften gegen den damaligen Zeitgeist darstellt. Die Inschriften sind nur in der Vergrößerung des Fotos zu lesen. Es lohnt sich.

The Sacred Heart is the first mural I painted on a large scale. It is located on the St.Mary's strip in San Antonio,Tx.
The wall is 45 feet long by 13 feet high! I wanted the Sacred Heart of Jesus Christ as my subject, and I wanted it to look larger than life. The image had to be cropped because of the dimensions of the wall, but it gives the impression that Christ is almost 100 feet tall. I have always enjoyed the art on religious candles, and get my inspiration from them. Even the background design was inspired from these candles. I think the Mural makes a good statment [sic].

One thing 99% of the time I don't do on Flickr is to look at descriptions as an Admin/Moderator I have days where I have 1000s of photos to approve so I don't see this CHILDISH STATMENT "If you FAVORITE my pictures or videos please leave COMMENTS or you will be BLOCKED!"
Why "CHILDISH?" because as ADULTS we should not be looking for validation! In my over a decade with Flickr have only blocked less than 10 people and it was due to them not keeping it clean in comments. I also don't have the time to block, however, IF YOU BLOCK ME AND YOU ARE A MEMBER OF A GROUP I 100% ADMIN, YOU WILL BE REMOVED FROM THAT GROUP! IF I MODERATE, YOU MAY FIND YOUR PHOTOS REMOVED!

On August 5, 1998, while I was Railfanning in Downtown Tampa, I stopped at Tampa Union Station to once again Photograph the Florida FUN Train, after it's grade crossing accident. Because the startup of the FUN TRAIN had been under capitalized, the dreams of the Fun Train creator, of featuring two Fun Trains, (one on each coast of Florida) were extinguished in Bankruptcy.
But of much greater interest, was the Anti-Tobacco Train seen here in these Photographs. I'm not sure who organized the Anti Tobacco Rally or funded the Train, which apparently was touring the United States to illustrate the Health Issues of Smoking, however it presented a great Photographic Opportunity for me. As we all know, Smoking causes several debilitating diseases, such as Lung Cancer, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (aka: COPD) and Emphysema.
I took these photographs with my Minolta Maxxim 5000 SLR using Color Print Film, when I was just learning photograph; so they are very soft & grainy. I scanned the Negatives and used Photoshop Elements to correct the exposure and to generate these Digital Images.
Disclaimer: Since I took these photographs while I was still learning Photography, some of my original Photos are of poor quality in both Exposure and Sharpness, which I could only partially correct with Adobe Photoshop Elements™.
Sometime is better without black frame. The statment was copied from the Bible and I deep belive in this description.

I had a button that I loved. It was Nixon/Agnew. The only VPOTUS ever to be removed from office and thrown in prison for being such an elected scumbag (maybe the bar was lower then), but I lost it. And this was the best replacement I could find, at the same old-stuff shop, downtown. Not as good a political statment, for class, but still a pretty cool one... if anyone were actually paying attention. ;-)
There are many truisms in life. That is to say a statment that is obviously true and says nothing new or interesting. People spout them all the time like some kind of mantra. Something like 'You'll never know how strong you are until strong is the only choice you have' or 'nothing is black and white' are the kind of things that spring to mind. 'Mama never said it would be easy' surely fits along the same lines but it's a fair bit snappier than most and to be pulled out in times of hardship with a wry smile on your face - assumably just before someone else tells you to shut your cakehole.
Anyway, you might be thinking that the above would be reason enough for today's piece. But no. We used to have a jacket with 'Mama never said it would be easy' on the back and for some reason that somewhat useless phrase has stuck with me. Now maybe I've done a piece featuring the phrase perhaps it can now just leave me alone and not spring into my mind at inopportune times...
As with all the pieces I've been doing recently he's a bit of mixed media magic featuring some spraypaint, crystal resin, dymo tape and whatever else I was using.
