While I love the purple shots from Saturday, this is more my style. Clear, black sky with gold lighting. (The gold effect is caused by sodium vapor lamps across the city.)
I managed to get two shots like this before first light, one at 100mm and another at 135mm.
3-photo HDR. Very slight crop to fix level. I really need to buy a better gimbal for the 100-500 that levels more accurately.

Bit by bit the beavers are winning the battle with this frozen brook. It is easier to chew on a tree when standing on solid ground instead of being partly submerged in water. Right Keith?

The Day Gas crosses Marent Gulch on an interesting bridge as they approach Missoula and an end to their day.
Cruising over the Spokane River, BNSF's 108, 329, 339, 341 and 104 work the M-CWHSPO Chewelah turn into Spokane.
This is a truly unique train, run entirely by GP60 variants due to track restrictions from the tight curves limiting it to only 4-axle locomotives.
A fairly huge fall from grace for these locomotives considering they once were at the helm of Santa Fe's intermodal trains some three decades ago, however still wonderful to see them earn their keep.
