I had a good idea for this week... but it fell through so I ended up with this... not my best but not my worst either...

Week 46/52

4/13/15

Lindsey and I met and talked to each of the five actors and got their autographs. There was also a group photograph with the five and us. Everyone was very engaged, except for one, who also appears on Big Bang, lol, you can figure it out.

Pictured are: Wil Wheaton, Jonathan Frakes, and Brent Spiner.

I saw Michael Dorn at the Star Trek Convention in Boston last week. Micheal Dorn plays Lt. Commander Worf, the only Klingon in Starfleet. He's my favorite character from Star Trek! I have seen him before, but many years ago. I was so surprised this time by how much older he had gotten. Somehow, I expected him to still be closer to the same Worf I know and love from the show. I guess that sounds unrealistic, but I just never thought about him growing old.

This was just the first photo I took of him and then I was told that photography was not permitted. I felt bad about that, and wished I could have gotten a better shot of him, but I suppose this was better than nothing at all. I'm not sure who those people are with him. I'm thinking maybe his assistants, or something.

If anyone can help me figure out where the stippling has come from, I would be most appreciative. It is on the first 3 photos (less noticeable on the third photo) and also appeared a bit on another roll recently, though it was a diffrent brand and using a different camera (!). Perplexing.

The green cast from the lights played havoc with the gold of the uniform top.

Stumbled upon this design on the Selectors page but it doesn't seem to be live on the rest of the site (yet).

Overall not particularly impressed - much harsher on the eye than the previous wiki version but then the lighter tones of the wiki worked much better for me.

The logotype and rounded corners just seem quite cliched in this context - a c.1980s StarTrekNextGeneration futuristic?

Am I being too harsh? Nice that the search is more prominent but the whole design just doesn't work for me

Went to the kickoff party for Phoenix Comicon 2012 and had a great time - and just look who is coming to the Comicon this year! My favorite television sci-fi series celebrates the 25th Anniversary celebration in Phoenix this coming Memorial Day weekend. Woohoo, I am so stoked. Desert Bug and I are volunteering during the events and I encourage you to consider volunteering too. Let me know if you are interested and I will find a way for you to connect up.

Fun to see what I could get with my new point and shoot camera, my G10 Canon, bought on eBay used but just a sweet little unit for sure. I was about 70 feet away from this projected screen and just had to try for a shot when the MC announced the surprise special guests coming. There will be over 25,000 people attending and the show has expanded over last year. So many events, so many stars, so much fun!
