They've just had word that the new girl (Littlefee Bonnie) is in Denver today, and should be arriving here at the Forest Hills Orphanage in the next week or three! Claire got out the new girl's wardrobe to go over it. Most of it was donated by Emily, with a few specially made items just for our newcomer!
Four dresses, a skirt, t-shirt, socks, jeans, hat, sweater jacket, a pair of pink leggings, two shrugs, dress shoes, sandals, a teddy bear, and a box with a few hair clips in it. I think we're all set, though I'm also partway through a sweater and two cardigans (I had a dreadful bout of Startitis in December.)
She's got a variety of rejected wigs from Emily and Claire to try out - I'm hoping new wig purchasing is unnecessary! LOL
Emily is waiting... Clearly we're going to have to find something to distract her!
Finished painting the room. There wasn't a drop paint left. So if there are "shadows" on the walls tomorrow when they are dry... too bad. I will live with that :-)
i have a really bad case of start-itis
i spent far, far, too much time yesterday on ravelry trying to choose a project to begin for Spring.
so i bring you --------
chain link socks vs. half pi shawl, let the indecision begin.
I was going to start knitting a new sweater today and then I remembered that I have four sweaters in progress at the moment (that's just the sweaters...for me...). And then I realized that three of the four sweaters were knit with a smaller me in mind (ie way before I got pregnant--the second time). Crap.
I got to the halfway point on the back of my double decker where you bind off before picking up the stitches. I bound off that, then picked up the Chalice handwarmers. They're going pretty quick. Should have the first one finished by tomorrow or Saturday.
This has been lying in its basket for quite a while. I started it while I was crazy with pregnant startitis. And I want to finish it. But it`s such a big thing!
And if I start working on it now, I have to finish it (those are the rules!)
Yeah, crazy i know😅.. But, at least it's just a small project, so if there's no error on the pattern, i might finish it this week *fingerscrossed 😊😊
I realized that I only had pay-attention knitting on the needles. cast on this shawlette for the waiting times and meetings when I have to pay attention.
why can't finishitis be more contagious than startitis?
i couldn't help myself, i just had to have an ulmus.

yarn: madelinetosh sock yarn in "afternoon" and "terra"
i have rediscovered the love for this project. i am in a total green phase again. time to get working on this again.

What causes my startitis is the just the desire to play with pretty yarn. Here's some of what's tempting me now.
I was in Carson for work. I studied ASL when I got home. I am still experiencing pretty significant startitis--I cast on for a pair of (very) bright, Spring socks. Greg did some yard work after he got home--this little buddy was watching him intently. We watched "Jiro Dreams of Sushi", which was wonderful. We had leftover tacos (despite the incredible sushi craving that resulted from watching that movie).
I caught a case of startitis watching the new crop of people step up to the 365 challenge. I really had no intention of doing this but I have thought occasionally about trying a phone cam only project so here goes...
I took me nine attempts to start these socks for my brother-in-law as I couldn't decide how I wanted to cast on, or how I wanted to do the cuff.
I have startitis of the cuff.

It was a (relatively) good Monday. I succeeded at letting much roll off my back at work and I just didn't engage in the things that typically drive me crazy. I ate my first ever Pomelo. I am going to try to eat a new piece of fruit once a week--I suspect I will run out after several months based on availability. I cleaned up the kitchen disaster when I got home. We have been watching Parks and Recreation--this has led to a wild waffle craving. Tonight I finally gave in. I have a bad case of startitis and I cast on for yet another project. This one is really going to be a beauty.
It's dark and dreary here, and things have been stressful lately, and I have startitis. So I am going to start a new project in brilliant happy colours.

Can you say "startitis"? It seriously seems like each week brings a new sweater project. This week's is another Hanne Falkenberg, Ballerina in the thunder blue/ white combo.
