Challenge 029: Sidelit
sidelit:
The light strikes mainly the (left, right, upper or lower) side of the photographed subject. Generally, it creates shadows with strong contrasts. This underlines the volume, the shape and the texture of the subject(s). Sidelit can have also totally different effects.

So i want to do some sort of 365 for all of the school year. It will be difficult but i think i can do it!
I'm not too sure how many days i have in my school year so once i figure it out, i'll fill in the fraction up above :)
This was taken a day before school, on my friend's birthday, and i think it's a good photo for the first day of my little challenge!
I also wanted to say that www.flickr.com/photos/vicariousphotography/
inspired me to do this sort of photo :)

So, the back story on this; A small group of us got to become pseudo-professional fireworks experts for the evening of the Kuskokwim-300 start. We set off about a hundred Chinese professional mortars and inserted well over a hundred colored mini flares into this sign to be set ablaze. We had to tape down the fuse to each and every flare so they would all go off in their multicolored glory (for about 60 seconds). I regret not having a picture of that, but I got to light it for the whole town to see instead. Pretty cool night...

Near the end of a job interview, an interviewer asked a young university graduate: “And what starting salary were you looking for?”
The stage from Kiffa to Diema was massively delayed by pointless Mauritanian bureaucracy. Earlier some government minister had given us an epic lecture about how he'd Sorted Things Out for us so we could simply drive to our destination. We were staying at a suspiciously overpriced "hotel" run by one of his associates. Then we had to wait an hour whilst some policeman at a roadblock tried to phone the minister to confirm that we were allowed through - and this wasn't even the border. After all the checkpoints, and despite getting four different mauritanian exit stamps, the minister still wanted me to do extra paperwork when he turned up at the finish-line in Mali...
