This Southern Pacific manifest is just starting up the grade through the Tehachapi Mountains in southern California. SD45T-2 "Tunnel Motor" 9232 is the first of 10 total units on this train. Four up front, four more 1/3 back, and they have just added 2 more 2/3 of the way back on this heavy freight. All ten are EMD, the majority are tunnel motors. I would see him again on the famed Loop later. (see my SP album).
yep. that's me. starting over again! i finished my baby blanket and when i cast off it ended up looking more like a shaull than a baby blanket! lol i somehow ended up with about 3 times as many stitches on the kneedle!! don't ask me how i managed that. lol
so one last attempt, and if i do not get it right this time, i'm tossing the knitting needles! lol

How we realize on our bike ride today that the GPS had taken us down a dead end gravel road.
After putting on clean socks, I started out on my walk through the forest. After about 2 minutes, here's what one looked like.

Leidsekade
The street is located on the northeastern bank of the Singelgracht and is indicated on an old administration map of the municipality of Amsterdam as lying between the Huis van Bewaring (entrance Weteringschans) and the Nieuwe Passeerdersgracht. It received its name by council decision on 19 November 1879 and was named after the city of Leiden; here in the area was the Leidsepoort. In the eighties of the 19th century, a breakthrough was made between the Leidsegracht and the Singelgracht, which helped determine the appearance of the Leidsekade.
The Leidsekade was given consecutive house numbers, the other side on the Singelgracht became Nassaukade with its own numbers. It is striking that the house numbering starts at number 49, as if the municipality intended to extend the quay northwards, but nothing is known about this. The buildings were built here around 1887 and connect with the inlet to the Leidsegracht, where the Leidsekades overflow into the quays of the Leidsegracht. This also applies to the other side of the inlet, where the buildings rest on the old bastion.

Usually I don't edit the scans of my analog pictures, but I tried a little on this one... And I tried to convert to black and white and it looks nice too, maybe even better, I don't know... But anyway, the original was a color analog picture, so I wouldn't upload the BW version as the main picture...
Over 100 Pronghorn were on this hill, and the lower plains area this is not in view. I did not have a wide angle lens to get them all into a photo, but did a count (as best I could). So, I would say 100 Pronghorn plus or minus 10%, as they kept moving around.
I had Charlie pick me up 15 minutes earlier, so we could start our trainwatching day right - with CN's L507 leaving DBR for N MKE.

Generally speaking, what does not exactly belong to one of the other general themes of the CoF chessboard (Indoor, Nature, People, Movement, Object, Flora, Fauna, City) as a whole: the main subject of the picture is an association of elements of different types. For example a scene, where the nature and a human element (house, castle, church, bridge, tractor, people, etc.) participate to the main subject of the photo.
